Hi All,
I've played a few rounds socially with friends and looking to play more often and improve my game. I've never been a member of a golf club and keen to join but not sure how to go about it. I've seen most clubs require nominations etc so how does this work if I don't know anyone from the club?

Would also like any recommendations for golf lessons in same area.

Thanks in advance for the help!

J

Hey Spud86. Welcome. We've got a few golfers here who are spuds by golfing talent, but not by name. Let us know which area you live in and we might be able to give some more specific feedback about membership.

G’day Spud, most clubs will get someone from the club to nominate you.

Not knowing anyone at the club shouldn’t be a barrier to joining.

Manly, Eleanora, Cromer and Monash would require nominations and references from existing members. (And possibly Wakehurst.)

Just enquire at the front desk at the others, and they will probably give you an application form and will handle the approvals at the next committee meeting.

The third and cheapest option is a pub/club based social golf club. Harbord Diggers have a big one.
