Happy to host a barby at my place....about 7 minutes from Kingston Beach GC.
Btw, don’t volunteer for the shotgun start on the 14th tee!

Best accom at Barny is the cabins at Barny Dunes itself. 4 rooms per cabin. Good quality, good value. 50 metres to the tee!
Lost farm rooms are 4 x more expensive! Bridport itself is Banjo territory!

I've stayed at a couple of self contained accommodations in Bridport, both good.

I'm sure a group of ozgolfers would survive the terrors of Bridport without too much drama.

Having said that, stay on-course if you can

Don’t sweat it, you don’t want to be one of these wankers who bangs on about it constantly.

I wouldn't remember any of it a month later anyway. All I can remember from the Thursday round last year is that I hooked my drive slightly off the first and almost lost the magic ball, and you went way right with a soccer ball. After that it's a blur.

If you're running straight through you probably wouldn't want to leave any later than 7:30am. (Presuming we get our full 40 field, obviously if we only have say 32, then our first tee time is pushed back from 11.50am to 12.10pm, etc.) 3.5 hours is around the mark.

We'll definitely be making it as early as we can as we'll be wanting to get back to the accommodation to run the calcutta (although we may be able to run it at the club), but if we have the full 40 players our last group won't be off until 1:42, so maybe 6:15 is about as early as we could possibly imagine...

Just called Tasmania GC and no go as they have a trade day. Alternative is a funky 9 hole track at Pittwater. Was also a member there in the day. Very scenic as it is in a bird sanctuary and has a pretty good layout.

Pittwater Golf Club Inc. is situated at Midway Point, approximately 25km south-east of Hobart, Tasmania. The club features a picturesque nine hole golf course set along the shores of Orielton Lagoon, a RAMSAR wetland of international significance. The course is fully irrigated using recycled water, allowing for lush green fairways, tees and greens all year round. Our clubroom and bar facilities are open and operated by Club members on competition days. The course and facilities are also available for Corporate Days and to Affiliated Members. In addition, Pittwater welcomes other visitors, on payment of green fees, at times when social golf will not interfere with scheduled competitions. Green Fees (2019): $20 – all players, all ages, 9 or 18 holes

Updated spreadsheet attached, please review your details and let me know if anything is wrong, or fill in the blanks / reds if applicable.

If anyone is thinking about entering NOW is the time. As of next week I'll have to lock in numbers with Hobart Airport Travelodge for Thursday and Friday nights, so if you enter after that you'll have to make your own accomm arrangements. Won't be able to guarantee a room or our pricing.

Sunday night stayers: There are ony 12 of us, so I'm just going to find us a cheap and cheerful motel, no muss no fuss. Hope you're all cool with that. I'll update you with a price once I get it sorted.

Monday players: Confirmed for a 2 tee start from 7.30am, no veterans comp being held now, so we'll have basically free run of the course. Launceston GC have offered us a lunch pack for $15 consisting of a bottle of water, salad roll, muesli bar and a piece of fruit. I made the executive decision to say yes to these for everyone. If you don't like it, stiff noogies. Please also indicate Yes or No for a $5 pull cart for this day if you haven't already...

I think that is all for now, speak soon. Lots of luv,

Lefty.

Hi There,
Captain Nemo has recommended me for this trip, seeing as I'm now a local Taswegian.. Spots left for the Tour?
Would love to play Friday, Saturday and Sunday
Cheers MattyHey Matty,

First and foremost, welcome aboard!!!

Certainly are spots available for Friday through Sunday, easily done. We're staying in Hobart Friday night, then Bridport on Saturday. Do you need accommodation for either of those nights?

Once I know that I'll get some costs done up for you.

Cheers mate,
Lefty

The On Course Golf Facebook page just shared the Vic Champs promotion post that I made. Is anyone here responsible for that?

Look out, Lefty, you might get bombarded with entries now.

What a shame that I used the wrong image for Royal Hobart, since some other website was showing a photo from Tasmania GC for it. I don't know if I can ever trust the internet for reliable information ever again.

Hope you are well mate, didn't make it down in Jan but am coming sometime, maybe March.

Revised times for tee off on Saturday and Sunday due to lower entry numbers than expected... (what is wrong with all you people!?!?!)

Our first group will now be off at 12.20PM on Saturday at Lost Farm, and 7.30AM on Sunday for Barnbougle Dunes, although these times are now for 28 booked while we actually only have 21, so even should we get up to 24 entrants, these times will move back a further 10 minutes again once we finalise numbers.

Jono I think there was discussion about Terracotta on LF, can’t remember about BN though.
