Hey Gang,
During my lunch break I have been practising my awfull chipping in the backyard and managed to skull a ball into the neighbors garden.
Nobody is home but they have a massive German Shepherd, however he seems very old and docile but does seem to give out a grumpy bark once in a while
Out of the 3 options which one should I take
a. grab the ladder, jump the fence, retrieve the ball and (if approached) tame the grumpy old dog ala Mel Gibson Lethal Weapon (
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wpJNCO6Aj2Q)
b. own up; wait till neighbors get home, confess it was me but blame it on my sons poor throwing (while playing in the back yard, freak of nature story)
c. same as b, but own up to the fact you currently suck @ chipping and you will give up the dream of ever becoming Seve never to chip in the back yard again
Any advice would be greatly appreciated
Your friend

D. mess up your backyard, smash the fence, and blame the dog of smashing up the fence and stole your ball

Not sure if an old docile dog would be capable of doing that

Fake your own death and move to Darwin. It’s not worth the hassle

Option A, on the proviso that you must have somebody video the retrieval and post the footage on OzGolf for our entertainment.

Tell your neighbours that you were kidnapped, thrown into a car boot and the kidnappers hit a golf ball into their garden.

E - leave it and say nothing. If they see it they'll think it was your son.

Rent a cat and toss that at the dog to distract him.

Using a ladder sounds too dangerous.

Ferrins; my cat is tenacious she would rip him to shreds; I am too much an animal lover to do something like that

Don't underestimate the neighbourly calming properties that only an aggressive pussy can provide.

A. But instead of the Mel Gibson method, use the technique Crocodile Dundee employed on the buffalo

Do you live near Solarman?
I’ve heard he carries a very long ball retriever.
Best Club in his bag.

Cairns is a very long way from North East of AdelaideBuy some barrels and leave them your backyard but make sure your neighbours can see them, this should stop them asking questions. [emoji16]
PS would the dog fit on your BBQ...asking for a friend [emoji16]
