Got the wedding invite today from the sax player in our band. Been looking forward to this, with the ceremony at St Patricks Cathedral and the reception at the Empire Theatre, a fantastic venue.

The invite states dress as Suits and Stilletos! I think that was added specifically for Robyn and I. I don't own a suit. I've never owned a suit. I've owned my black pants (straight front pinstripes to be exact) for only a year at most.

Robyn is as tall as I am and owns nothing but flat shoes. She dosen't even own anything to go with stilletos!

I can see this wedding is gonna cost us a packet.

I wonder what kind of suit I can get from Lowes for under a hundred bucks.

Not worth buying one if you are never going to wear it again. Rent one or borrow one.

Jarro's on the right track. Get down to lifeline or St Vinnie's & pick yourself up a suit. If the type of suit hasn't been specified, you're laughing. You can choose from safari suit's, zoot suit's or even a nice polyester number a la Saturday Night fever! ;)

We figure between both of us, this could cost us inxs of 400 to 500. Siut hire, outfit for rob, shoes, gift. Damn good thing we like them eh :)

Actually looking forward to it. We don't get dolled up much these days. Should be fun. We've played some functions at the Empire theatre, and the main stage is a fantastic venue, looking out upon the main auditorium.

don't rent one. you'll be up for around $150! Vinnies or Lifeline are the go. Lowes suits are awful. They'll be nasty wool blend or microfibre if under $200. Check out the big Lifeline on Ruthven Street, near St Saviours school. Otherwise, next time you are in Brisbane, check out the Lifeline Superstores and Revamp fashions in the city...

You never did like them anyway. Tell them you're doing your hair that night ;)

Well its sale time right now, i know you can get a few good suits from a few decent retail outlets right now.

You could just go to some outlet stores and fine your self a decent suit for under 200, make sure you get cotton blends and not microfiber.

Or you can take the suggestion and go to vinnies and find a pretty decent suit there...borrow one if you have someone that same size are you...

Alternatively just find a jacket that matches your pin strip pants.

Will you be wearing your flanelette shirt tucked in or out, goughy?

$79 to hire a suit from spirlings. Our vinnes in woomba won't have anything, been down that road before. Rob has ordered an outfit from JC Penny, should be here in a couple of weeks.

Don't have to worry about shirt, tie shoes (I already have some thongs) so I think hiring will be the way to go. And don't worry vegas, I was only joking about Lowes :)

We'll give vinnies a go, but I don't expect much.

Goughy - often the Vinnies in towns that you wouldn't expect much have the best treasures. Either they pick up what people don't generally purchase, and/or they don't have a lot of traffic going through that store. You might be pleasantly surprised.
