Now it's time to organise the most important part of champs - the food. I don't know South Brisbane / West Overly well, but I have been recommended this by a local friend:

http://juliuspizzeria.com.au/

(http://juliuspizzeria.com.au/)Open to any other suggestions locals (or non-locals) might want to visit...

And GO!!

Friday Night - Booked by PeteyD - The Burrow 7:00 pm: PeteyD, Mrs PeteyD, AndyP, LeftyHoges, Benno_R, TheCollective, Courty, Peppas, Bushy, Jono, SundayHack, Matt3Jabb, BITS, Jazzdog, Marcel, Ron Burgundy
Pencil: Henno, Shazza_RS, Peter_RS, Bluu

Although it has been a while for me, Punjabi Palace (http://www.punjabipalace.com.au/) was always good if you like indian.

Also Ugees coffee in boundary street does awesome coffee. We go there to get our beans for home.

Other places that do good food but not sure if they open for dinner include 3 monkeys and the gunshop cafe.

There is also the bistro at the Melbourne Hotel.

There are a LOT of restaurants just where we are staying.

I have been there a few times. It is pretty good food and quite popular. It always seems to be full and is also quite close to the Southbank precinct.

Not sure if the combination of Indian Food and Craft Beer are a good mix when sharing a room with someone....

This was one that I already had in mind. I have been to their new location in West End, but it was good before.

I could list plenty of other craft beer places in the area that serve food too.......

I was going to put my hand up to to organise one of the dinners (maybe at The Burrow or Jame Squires), but now that I am stuck at a customer site, and have upcoming travel, I just can't do it.

Can some other attendees volunteer to take one night's dinner each for organising? I don't think this is something that benno should have to look after.

The Burrow (http://theburrowwestend.com.au/) is a relatively easy walk from the Accommodation. It is craft beer and Pizza. I am happy to organise a booking for Friday Night if we can sort out approximate numbers.

PeteyD
27th August 2018, 12:29 PM
The Burrow have got back to me. I have a tentative booking for Friday night at 7pm for 12 and maybe a few more, numbers to be confirmed. 12 based on the 10 staying at the apartments + me and the boss.

AndyP
27th August 2018, 12:32 PM
Is that all that is staying out of nearly 30? That's a lot of asterisks.

PeteyD
27th August 2018, 12:36 PM
Guess we need to know soonish if anyone not staying at the apartments is coming to dinner.

Pig and Whistle? I think a fair few people might want to be close to some TVs on those nights.

We probably won't be back until 7pm or so also.

The problem is that it is not very close to the accommodation. It is either a few kilometres of walking, or an Uber ride away.

That said, the meals there are decent, as are the beers. And Brewski, which is a few doors down, has even better beer. Hoges will want to pay a visit to his hall, Lefty's Old Time Music Hall, across the road, for some live music.
