View Full Version : Alo-Jono Anti-Ho pact

Jono
19th July 2006, 02:44 PM
Just came up with this in the chatroom this morning. Alo and I both agreed that we need to cut down on ho'ing and work on our games.

Here's the deal. Neither of us are allowed to buy another club until I get down to 7 and Alo gets down to 18 handicap.

Buying balls and accessories is allowed (e.g. wet weather gear, buggy, gloves, etc). Reshafting is allowed. Selling is allowed. Swapping is NOT allowed.

If either of us break this pact, there is a penalty of 1 dozen brand new balls, brand of winner's choice.

We are going to do a inventory check tonight and will write down all the clubs we own at the moment. If anyone sees a club that is not in the list either in Alo's bag or my bag, please report here. Might get you a sleeve of brand new Pro V1x's ... ;)

Whats more I don't think either of them have thought about how long it will take to get to their handicap goals. If this had started in the era of persimmon drivers and gutta percha balls I suspect they might still be playing them, unable to upgrade to titanium and surlyn, because their handicaps had not budged an inch.

If not these two, does anyone else want to set up a challenge? As you can see I'm short on motivation right now.......

Pull a few shaft from MP001 3 wood, Steelhead III 7 wood and the Hogan 27*.... going to put a Irod Fairway/Hybird into the 7 wood and Hybird and a another steel shaft... maybe TX90 into the MP001.

You can tell me to shut up before then if you like.

My handicap may stay at around 17 for the rest of my life, it doesn't bother me in the slightest. If you think having a lower handicap means you're a better golfer then you're playing for the wrong reason IMO.

In the meantime, keep up your thrice weekly range sessions and i'm sure it won't take long.
