So who's up for this this year? I'll email the organisers and see if they've got entry forms yet? Sometimes they are a bit limited in buggies so the earlier you nominate the more likely you can get one. Barely hit a ball since this last year, so if you get stuck with me maybe think of yourselves as a group of 3 with the handicap of a 4!Two teams entered thus far. We'll sort them out on the day. More teams still available. 4 buggies reserved for us, the rest will have to walk.

I'd really be after hourlies......

Naturally they told me they're already short on buggies, but that city usually finds extras for them. She thought they might have had 4 left. I asked them to hold 4 for us.

I'll send a couple of forms in today. How's things going with you Charger?

I'm assuming like usual, we'll mix groups up on the day, just wanna get a couple of entries "in".

I'd say around 11'ish. I've sent in two entry forms so far and inquired how many other groups they have left. I just made up a couple of hc's - really doesn't matter as we'll sort it out on the day anyway, along with the actual groups. So we're a bit up in the air on the third group so far...........

I am in, as my travel will be late in April now.

When it was looking like I was having to leave on this weekend, I was considering playing this, flying out that night, then running the Vienna Half Marathon on the Sunday morning. That would have been challenging!

What time is tee off this? I fly into Brisbane at 6am.

I also only have 5 clubs in the car, so if I can make it, could anyone lend me a set of irons and a bag?

FWIW I was thinking of playing a quick 9 holes somewhere on the way there, but I don't know how do-able that is.

Heads up for those traveling from Brissy. There are lots of road works happening so give yourself some extra time.

Roadworks at lowood/laidley intersection and resurfacing of the bitumen on the Gatton bypass.

Shaz is correct. Probably would be quicker going through Gatton and Grantham rather than the highway.

I pity the poor fools who get paired with me! Haven't hit a ball since I think last year's Leon day, and since then arthritis has hit my hands, worst in the little finger of my right hand. Just grabbed hold of a club, ouch. It'll be a loose grip tomorrow, so beware the flying club!

19th April 2018, 10:20 AM
Yeah, but you're a natural compared to me. Not that I'm worried, I think most that have played with me over the last umpteen years have learnt I enjoy a laugh.
Hit some birdie basis in the back yard. Couldn't even try to grip the club with my normal pressure, but if I hope it completely loose it wasn't too bad.

Yeah, I thought it was 11 too. I was gonna get there at 10. I don't think I even read the brochure itself. But I checked and it's the same time as last year.

What time do you think you'll get here Petey? I'll come down and keep you company if your gonna be early. Work is for schmucks (I'm usually a schmuck).

Geeze it's hard to give a cart away though!

I sit for hours in front of a computer screen. If I've got the chance to walk it's great. Besides, PeteyD and Charger needed the second cart more than I did (breakdown on about our 5th hole for the day - ended up in the Marshall's cart - but wasted the opportunity to penalise the groups in front two shots for making us wait.)

We all had our craptastic moments! It's just so good to get out onto a course and have a hit!

It's not the thunder I mind. I'm really happy to hear it because it means we haven't been hit by the associated lightning.
