Seems like a great forum. I love my golf (ga handicap 17.2 which I am actually quite proud of!) I’m a member at Gainsborough greens here in Qld which is a magnificent course. Brand new clubhouse opening this weekend which is exciting. I also own a villa right on the first fairway and green at Kooralbyn Valley which is a magnificent location. I have the villa at Kooralbyn up for short term rental on Airbnb aimed primarily at golfers. Have a look at https://abnb.me/EVmg/nPKxupNZSJ (if there are difficulties with the link then just look at the Airbnb site- Kooralbyn - ours is the one with the sunrise photo).I would love to welcome and host any keen responsible golfers there. I do try to spend as much time there myself as I can but work tends to get in the way a lot!

Did you buy the villa to keep an eye on your goats?

First post, renting out an Air B and B.Nice welcome, can I have your money? That wasn’t the intention mate. I’m not after people’s money. Kooralbyn is a great course. Just giving options for anyone who might be looking at an overnighted or golf trip there. Sorry if you took it the wrong way

Welcome to the Zoo Heady. Kooralbyn is a great spot. We went there on our Honeymoon, 35 years ago. Actually stayed in a Villa overlooking the lake, like yours. The last time I was out there playing (a year ago), a lot of the Villas looked liked they had been gutted? I hear the resort is struggling a bit, which is a shame.

Welcome Heady, it sucks about work taking up valuable golf time I know, I guess it helps to buy more golf junk though.

Welcome Heady!!!! Try to ignore all the lunatics!!! Thanks shreko, there’s always a couple of idiots but I firmly believe that the vast majority of golfers are good decent people.

Hi Daves, great to hear from you mate. The new owner has really had a red hot crack at Kooralbyn. I was there just over two years ago and it looked like the end of the world. Went back in July and could not believe the transformation. There is still work to do but it is unrecognisable compared to not long ago. I think the resort is doing ok now. Lots of Chinese groups and plenty of new things in the pipeline. I hope it succeeds because it is such a beautiful place, time will tell I suppose. The villas on the front are all privately owned and in pretty good shape now. There are some lodges right next to the first tee which are owned by the resort. These are still derelict but are just starting to be done up again. Take care mate
