So... currently I have:

~220m+ Driver
~200m 3W
~180m Hybrid
~170m Ping G15 4
~160m Ping G15 5
~150m Ping G15 6
~140m Ping G15 7
~130m Ping G15 8
~120m Ping G15 9
~110m Ping G15 PW
~80m Ebay RAM FX SW
~60m-ish Cleveland 60° (60.8 CG16)

I want to ditch my 4 iron since I never use it
And sort out my wedges (since I have an annoying gap there)

Want to keep my PW - which apparently:

loft: 45°
length: 35.50"
offset: 0.18"
lie: 64.00°
bounce: 10°
swing weight: D2

and get 3 others, to replace the two I currently have at the bottom
(don't have to be new but want them to match #cosOCD)

Maybe something like
1: 50/52
2: 54/56
3: 58/60

Thoughts?

You can have 14 clubs in the bag so no problem keeping your 4 iron and add 3 wedges to replace your existing ones. I'd go with 50/54/58 to keep your gapping close. Personally, my wedges are 50/55/60.

I've just gone to 50/54/58, switching from 50/56/60.

Wedges are scoring clubs. Much more important, in my opinion, than having another club that you can hit a long way.

I've used a 50/54/58 combo for ages, with my PW set St 46* but have recently weakened the PW to 48 and dropped the 50 to put a 3i back in the bag. So far so good.

I got a nice set of Cleveland RTX 3 54/58 wedges I got off perci avail if u are interested. [emoji3]

It's all about personal preference. I've carried 4 wedges for a long time but have just started working with three. Find it far easier to dial in short game shots with less choice. Why not buy 2 sets of new wedges and test both, then sell the ones you prefer, like I do! 😂

I have 3 wedge sets, Vokey TVD's, Kasco's, and Epon Technity. They are all the same configuration, 52/56/60, which means I can go from my Titleist bag to my JVD bag without worrying about adjusting to different lofts. My Epon set are spare ATM until I decide whether to keep them or let them go.

Agreed - having said that I can keep the 4iron anyway

Thanks mrblue. I'm keen on getting 3 matching ones (#ocdRobot) so probably not. If I can get a matching 50 then maybe...

My golf budget must be slightly smaller than yours :P

I'm sure there will be one floating around ;)

Ok so lets say I was to get a 50/54/58.. is it normal to have them increasing in bounce?

E.g.

50.8
54.10
58.12

58.12I think it's just personal preference and the conditions you play.

I prefer mid bounce and standard grinds for my wedges.

Rule of thumb: select low bounce for firm courses and if you have shallow divot, high bounce for soggy conditions and if you take deep divots. I like low bounce for lob wedge to be able to be able to get underneath the ball for more creative shots like the flop shot and makes it easier to open the face.

Yeah I'm definitely not a deep divot person, and most of the time play on rock hard courses

Titleist SM6
kbs stiff shafts

50/8 F grind
54/8 M grind

just received my set of Mizuno T7, and have the same specs as what you have listed... seem to be easy to hit off and fits my distance gap from PW.

However, curios to find out how the lower bounce will affect my sand shots as my previous SW was a McGregor VIP 56/12... which was great for fluffy sands, but I always struggle with harder wet sand shots

I currently do a lot of my sand shots with my 60.8, so don't think it will be very different for me personally
(fluffy sand is a bit of a foreign concept where I play)

I should really try the same wedge in a low and high bounce one day

A month ago, the winter rain stop for a bit, and the sand were dried and may have been fluffed up for the club championship... hit every bunker, but could get out of it without batting an eyelid...
but after that we had a bit of rain on and off, and i found the sand to be fluffy at the top, but seems to be hard about an inch below... caught lots of fly balls then... confidence level was crushed after that...

Public course solid sand bunkers...i just used my PW to pitch them out :D

Hartfield bunkers become brutal once the sand gets firm.

I'm not 100% sure, but I suspect some of the courses I've played at might be mixing their sand with a small percentage of cement
