Just curious, but is there a practical reason why you need to wait 60 seconds between posting PM's?

Note: I would have PM'ed this to Andy but couldn't be bothered waiting.

Yep.

And what would that reason be?

To prevent spamming the same user.

To prevent spamming the same user.
To prevent spamming all users.

Otherwise, the new user ViagraKing (g69 alias) might be able to churn out a few PMs in quick time to everyone about the specials this month.

Fair enough.

Can't the alleged ViagraKing just post the same message to 5 people instantly anyway?

Besides Courty, what have you got to say in private that you can't say in public?

What I was saying was, if it weren't for the 60 second limit on PMs, a douche like that would be able to fire off PMs to everyone in double-quick time.

I don't like being quoted.

Thanks for reporting it.

This particular spammer keeps coming back (assuming all this WoW crap is the same person), and it seems like it's manually posted instead of a spambot. It's bloody annoying for all of us.

Is it random IPs? That would suggest a botnet of some sort.

Otherwise just block his IP, or the whole damn subnet.

On my servers, I go as far to block entire countries. China, Russia and Brazil be damned.

Clikchic had a problem one with accessing a site. They had blocked an ip range to stop a spammer. She contacted them saying that she couldn't access the site, they explained the situation and basically said too bad so sad.
