How much softer does the soft stepping make them? Does it increase launch at all?

How much softer does the soft stepping make them? Does it increase launch at all? They say 3 steps between flexes so fractionally softer and launch maybe a tad easier but nothing major noticed.these cost me a bomb new and are still mint
