2017 Qld Champs Warm-up - Gordonvale Golf Club: Thursday 7th September

Cost: $20 including comp fees - single stroke according to fixtures list. Carts are available so please let me know if you would like one reserved.


Time: Latest tee times for the comp are usually around 12:30pm. I should be able to get later tee times if required, to give anyone travelling on the day some extra time to get to GGC.

No worries Bushy - OP updated. I probably won't e-mail the club until a couple of days beforehand. Unfortunately the Micropower system doesn't allow me to add visitors and so I'll have to get the club to enter the groups.

Okay, a bit over a week to go (can't come quick enough). Who is flying in on Thursday and what time(s) are you arriving? I'll look to contact GGC in the next few days to finalize reserving spots on the timesheet and, if required, to see if we can extend the last tee time for the comp for those that want to have their round handicapped.

For the non-FNQers, if you wouldn't mind pm'ing your Golflink numbers to me by early next week please, that would be helpful.

Just gotten confirmation from GGC that the last three groups have been reserved for us and as we are the last groups in the comp a later tee time than 12:10pm shouldn't be a problem. I am so proud to say that thanks to a triple and a quad my score worked out to be 24 points and we worked out Bushy to have 23. This could be important for NAGA purposes later on if the quality of golf continues.

Benno played OK and AndyP had the excuse of being super rusty but Bushy and I just played bad.

But we had a lot of fun. I hope the fun continues and the golf gets better.

I would say it's a solid country course, with a good mix of holes. Having the race course as a hazard is a good move.

I definitely enjoyed the hit. Holes inside the track (with the exception of 17 and that abominable series of shots I played trying to hack out of the track proper) were very fair and unpunishing, and the other holes were decent as well. View of the mountains and the molasses aroma were pretty good.
