Jarro
26th June 2006, 01:39 PM
not a bad side.

I'm still not sold on Dallas Johnson, he just doesn't seem to be up to Origin .... I'd have strated with Carroll anyway.

Glad Schifcofske got a run at fullback, he's been playing well enough of late. Hannay was a bit of a dark horse though :-s

Very strong side, should be an easy victory

FOR THE BLUES !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

PeteyD

NSW selectors have paniced and choked. QLD to win by a mile. Gasnier is a hopeless 5/8th.

dc68
26th June 2006, 01:56 PM
And go Adam Mogg (I take back what I said after the naming of Game 11 team:oops:     )

BrisVegas
26th June 2006, 01:56 PM
Didn't Carroll get knocked out over the weekend? Is he fit to play?

How many concussions can a player suffer before they have to call it quits?

dc68
26th June 2006, 02:05 PM
He just takes it on the chin and gets on with the job!

Courty
26th June 2006, 02:25 PM
Glad to see Schifcofske at fullback. He's a talented player who should have played more Origin games by now. He has a much bigger frame than Bowen/ Slater/ Hunt etc and has great hands. He's been in good form so far this year so he will go well.

I agree with Jarro a bit on Dallas Johnson. He's a great player at club level, but I feel he is a little undersized for Origin. I wouldn't mind seeing Flannery running on at Lock and maybe another utility or 2nd rower on the bench (Carlaw/ Maguire?)

Gasnier at 5/8! Lockyer will tear him a new one. Nathan Brown tried this little experiment with the Dragons a few weeks back, then returned Gasnier to the centres. What does that tell you?

Good to see Paul Gallen getting a run for the blues. He's a hard worker who will be well suited to Origin.

Moe Norman
26th June 2006, 02:52 PM
notice they have Hornby on the bench, I reckon he will start at 5/8 and it's all a bit of a smokescreen.

Not sure about Hannay - hasn't he been playing QLD Cup??

What about Martin??

Courty
26th June 2006, 02:54 PM
Hannay played with the big boys this weekend just gone. Scored a try too, I believe. Who's Martin?

Moe Norman
26th June 2006, 02:56 PM
Martin is a former storm player now playing in the centres for Auckland. He's a good player and is a specialist centre. Perhaps he might get a look in if Hodges is ruled out as expected.

Oh. Tony Martin. Didn't realise he was a QLDer.

Jarro
26th June 2006, 04:29 PM
Martin hasn't been playing the house down lately.

Let's just hope that Hodges is indeed fit and can take his place. He's the best centre running around at the moment.

Moe Norman
26th June 2006, 06:40 PM
Martin hasn't been playing the house down lately. Agreed, but at least he's been playing NRL!

He was good on the weekend.

Jarro
26th June 2006, 06:55 PM
What about Willie Tonga ???

Moe Norman
26th June 2006, 07:08 PM
injured, but 'apparently' they have named Hodges so they can have a look at him and/or Inglis if they make a comeback this weekend

Jarro
26th June 2006, 07:14 PM
i'm thinking Inglis would be right in a pinch, put him in instead of Hodges ... or put him on the wing and move Tate to the centres.

dc68
27th June 2006, 08:26 AM
Worst nightmare Hodgo out:cry: Wesser in on wing Tate to centre.......Wesser OMG WTF are the selectors thinking?
Hopefully proven wrong as with Moggy here:oops:.....but I doubt it.

Jarro
27th June 2006, 08:57 AM
Wesser shouldn't be on the wing in my opinion, he's a centre ... not a winger.

Courty

I don't reckon he's either...

They got no one who can get the ball out there.

.. maybe Gower will just pass it straight past him to the centres

Maybe Berrigan in the centres might have been a better option, and leave Tate on the wing. Wesser doesn't exactly pose too many threats out there on the wing.

Moe Norman
27th June 2006, 11:22 AM
lets hope he proves us wrong like Mogg did, difference is Wesser has already had a chance!

Jarro
27th June 2006, 11:26 AM
i'm just really not sold on playing centres/fullbacks on the wing. It used to work a few years ago, but nowadays wing is a specialist position. Tate goes OK there because he's played a bit of wing with the Broncos ... but i can't recall the last time i saw Wesser play there.

I won't see it either working, gee it is a real bad move for the NRL to have agamee like this not in either NSW or QLD. Does not to seem to be anywhere near the normal interest in this at all. I am actually not that worried if I get to see any of it or not at work tonight. NSW should win if the forwards get on top, but who knows with Origin. I hope Gasnier gets his ego put into check by the QLD forwards. I dont think the ball wil get passed him to often, he is a winger/centre not a 5/8.

It's this type of thinking that leads to teams languishing at the bottom of a league.

We'll see how the halves go. Finch and Anasta have been useless for 140 minutes of the series so far..

Techicly NSW didn't score a try.

3rd try, scored after a "knock on" from JT, yeah right.

at least the complaints about the refereeing now won't seem like sour grapes - that was disgraceful.

I tend to accept bad decision, but when you watch a replay 20 times on a screen and the verdict is 100% clear and you STILL get it wrong, you're obviously in the wrong game (or a cheat)

No, often it's worse.

When they put it in, there were a lot of complaints about the shifting surface and dead patches of turf, as well as quite a few leg injuries.

Management were very quick to deflect blame away from the surface when people started to get injured.
