Folks ... i'm looking for reviews on this shaft.

I'm using a Bridgestone J33R 10.5* driver at the moment with a stiff NV75 shaft, but i'm looking to change the combo as the shaft doesn't seem to work for me in this head.

I love the look/feel/sound of the Bridgey, but want a shaft that launches a little higher.

I had a swing with azza's Hi-Bore with a reg V2 the other day and it felt great, so that's why i'm thinking of getting one of those shafts.

any reviews out there ???

another cheap option is the prolaunch too, if you are trying things out. you'd get a pullout pretty cheap I would think.

I hit azza's a couple of times in the Hi-Bore and it felt "effortless", although it started to go left when swung a bit harder. Stiff would fix that.

I had one hit with Jamie's 905R and I think it had a V2 in it. It went straight as a die, but very high with lots of spin. Probably more due to the head than anything.

Seems like a good shaft. Lots of people are giving it good wraps out there in cyberspace.

I tried a V2 in a 905R at a demo day...Nice shaft in my opinion. I have a NV65 in my 4 wood, the V2 was a bit heavier and felt more solid...not really lively, not sure how to explain it to be honest.

i was thinking of trying the 75 gram version, but think the torque might be a little much for me :-s

Dion, do you remember what weight V2 Nudgee had in the 905 ???

No idea, sorry. Terry/ploppy might remember... I was more interested in the head, if you know what I mean...

no probs mate. Knowing Javier, it was probably the 75 gram version ... being the gorilla he is

I remember reading somewhere that the 75g stiff plays like a 757 Speeder in the same flex. That would probably explain the low torque of the V2.

Tried the V2 myself on course with 2 head. 905R and HiBore on a few occasions. Both R and S flex in both head.

No matter what head/flex combo It just doesn't want to go straight nor straightlish. I didn't hit one single fairway (not even the next fairway).

I guess its just my swing tempo not suitable to this particular shaft.

On the other hand a ProLaunch in both head... again, R and S flex gives me much better result. S in 905R and a R in a HiBore suit me the best if you're interest to know.

so you think a 65gram in stiff flex would help me get a higher ballflight than the NV ??

i remember you hit a few low ones with the Hi-Bore which had the Reg V2 didn't it ??:???:

I put that down to an inconsistent swing rather than deliberately trying to lower the ball flight. Having said that though, I had a much higher ball flight using the G5 with the NV65-S.

I tried a UST V2 Stiff in a Titleist 905R. To me, it felt a lot 'chunkier' than other shafts (this could have just been that the grip was built up). I'm undecisive as to whether I like it or not, as I didn't get to spend a whole lot of time using it.

Stick with 65g. Lighter weight is the way to go, regardless of the shaft you pick. At least with us mortals.

Jarro, these are superb shafts. I had a 75 reg in my old R5 and it was as smooth as. I had it tipped a little too much for my swing so maybe an untipped 65 might have been better for me but at the end of the day the 2 longest drives I have ever hit at Carnarvon were with that combo.

Could not recommend them highly enough.

It is the one shaft I am itchin' to try. I think when my cheapskate ass can bear to fork out the cabbage, a Bi-Hore with a V2 might be the object of my affliction.... ;)

takes a while to get use to the extra weight...
defn not for the average SS...75gram, 2.5 (2.8) torque - ouch!!!

I've only ever tried it in the 905s - didn't like it too much!!!
Might feel better/different it if wasn't bore-thru - who knows?!?!?

I tried out a 65 gram shaft last night, it's too light! I don't see how you could produce a consistant swing with such a light weight.

I Can't claim Bi-Hore as an original... I saw it on a US forum, but I do like it. Sounds much more interesting than the original. :D

Just scored a driver of ebay, 905T 10.5* with Proforce V2 stiff, looking forward to giving it a crack. Should be more accurate than the 7.5* cobra with the stiff aldila shaft!

hard to say on the range Azza:???:

.. But it was at least 10 meters i'd say, i was flying a few over places where my old 510 was getting too ..... real test will be on course though

shaft feels excellent, nice and smooth, with a real kick that i've never felt with previous shafts (especially the NV)

glad you like it Mark. Looking forward to you smashing one down the 10th at Gailes on Sunday. Be careful though, it gets a bit narrow down where the trees pinch in.... 300m off the tee!

Hit mine at a range last night, 905T 10.5 with 76 gram V2

Love it, much better than my old driver. Can't wait for saturday now!

Compared to my previous setup, its allot more accurate and forgiving

Jarro
30th June 2006, 09:17 AM
i thought about the 75 gram V2 as well Chris, but a little birdie talked me out of getting something with only 2.2* of torque ;)

Glad it's working well for you. Must be a revelation after using a 7.5* driver for so long ;)

Chris32
30th June 2006, 09:43 AM
yeah, feels much better, I can put a golf swing on the 10.5 and it goes well, the 7.5 you had the murder it to get it up, felt like you where trying to hit a home run each drive!

My shaft says 2.2 torque on it, are you going for a lighter shaft?

Jarro
30th June 2006, 09:47 AM
yeah mate, i went for the 65 gram version, it has 3.0* torque.

A little more within my limitations ;)
