View Full Version : Members comp fees in Sydney

I was having a look around at various membership options only to be frustrated by a lack of publication of comp fees. It's easy enough to compare annual fees but without the comp fees it's hard to assess the suitability of membership.
I was hoping Ozgolfers might be able to help compile a list of Members comp fees in Sydney. I'll get the ball rolling:

Strathfield $13

Liverpool has different fees at different times and for different ages, changed it when they dropped yearly fee -
21-36yrs old is no fee,
37yrs is $5,
38 yrs is $12
39 yrs is $17 Sat, $15 Sun and $12 midweek
Over that is $22 Sat, $17 Sunday and $12 midweek.

Plus have to add $3 bar voucher on top of those numbers.

I don't feel 48 is old, but at Liverpool I'd feel like I am subsidising others?

Cumberland is $16 including $1 pro pin.

Dunheved $17.50 including same.

Used to be $15 every day but fees were $4-500 dearer then now so it apparently works out the same for most full paying guys. I think $22 is to steep for a weekly fee to play comps and will probably be elsewhere by that age.

Fair enough. Kudos to them for trying to attract younger players. Just seems weird. To me it would just be more logical to have say a 20-25, 25-30, 30-35, 35-40, scale etc. ... just rather than ramping it up each year!?

Sounds like it's based to ages of the directors' children and their friends.

Kogarah is $16 which includes a $1 pro pin. They have dropped the voucher system this year. Only 15 holes at this point in time though. Hated it at first but I'm now enjoying the 3 hour 15 min comp rounds.

Out of curiosity how large are some of the fields you get on a Saturday comp and what are the prize pools like?

My home club has had 2-3 comp price rises in as many years but we don't get anything extra in the prize pool at all!!!

They will probably ban your own golf shoes soon
