Hey all

I should have got this thread up a bit earlier, but it seems that this doesn't have the same interest that it once did. :( This is where we remember one of our site founders who lost his life to cancer, and throw in some cash to help the Toowoomba Oncology Ward, who supported him and his family in his last days.

There are some nice totals from previous years, and it would be great if we kick the current total along before the golf day in a few weeks time.

Thank you to everyone that supported the fund raising for this year's Leon Treadwell Memorial, including those who donated via the Vic Champs, via my #beardonbeard off campaign, or donated directly. The money is greatly appreciated by the Toowoomba Hospital Foundation. In fact, I have received a big hug from the director the last two years for our donation, so I pass on some virtual hugs to you.

I will pass on what this money has gone towards, when the foundation gives us an update.

Hi Andy, I hadn't been on the site for a while, but chucked some cash in the raffle.

In an email from the Hospital Foundation, they provided the following wrapup from the golf day.


10th Leon Treadwell Memorial Golf Day a major success!April saw the Toowoomba Hospital Foundation team and the Treadwell family celebrate a very special event milestone. The 10th anniversary Leon Treadwell Memorial Golf Day was held on Friday, 21 April, with 132 players taking to the green in memory of Leon Treadwell, who passed away from cancer 10 years ago.


What an achievement for this fantastic community event, which has raised over $50,000 for the Toowoomba Hospital cancer unit.


Thank you to Leah and the beautiful Treadwell family for their ongoing support and dedication to this event.

They also posted the attached photo, which just goes to show that it only takes a stupid hat to get some attention.
