Still struggling to find the right hybrid. I would like to try a hybrid that plays more like a fairway wood. I have tried 5 and 7 woods n the past and they don't work..

Looking for 18-21 degrees with stiff shaft, the exotics hybrids come to mind but am open to suggestions...

I'll be testing a 17 degree TM soon and if it doesn't work I can pass it on. Stiff fubuki 400 shaft from memory. Or a 18 degree DHY pro head but it's a lot more like an iron.

Rick,
Like you I was struggling with hybrids. It was either chocolates or chunder!
I am a good fairway wood player so I got the F6 one of these!

https://www.golfbox.com.au/clubs/cobra-king-f7-fairway-wood-black/

It now is the F7 but they are truely great and flexible FW's. I got the 4/5 version that plays between 17.5 and 20.5*. (I tend to play it at 18.5* and hit it about 185/190 metres. I have on occasions thrown the 3 wood out of the bag and played it at 17.5*.
It has been great at all of these settings!
High lofts are available. The stock shaft is a matrix red tie.

Use the $50/$250 voucher from the Genesis cup and you can't go wrong!

Just my 2 cents worth!

Pete

I don't have one mate but what about the last model of JPX mizzies. They were super easy to hit/launch and are a really nice looking thing. There's got to be one out there that's not too pricey given they've just been replaced as well.

I second the Big Bertha hybrids. The new Steelhead XR hybrids are also pretty large heel to toe.

You might also want to check out the Cobra F6 Baffler.

Whilst technically a 4 wood, has a much shorter shaft than average, and the rails encourage you to play it like a hybrid.

I've never been able to hit fairway woods, but I hit the Baffler well and best of all consistently.

Mine usually now takes the place of my 3 hybrid.

Some good options there, especially the baffler and the jpx.

Never really hit high lofted fairway woods any good, too spinny and short...

I'm liking the sound of the King F6 Baffler 4/5 wood.... now to find one :)

Plenty of j33 still on ebay.com, I periodically check in case I ever wear mine out.

Still have my old j33 head, maybe I should find a shaft....

On it. I've got one of those Adams hybrid woods in the A4 model Daves linked and have an Tour Edge E8 head as well. Also an Adams Idea Super hybrid with a Matrix Program H7.1 in reg that plays noticably stiffer. Have a tour issue TM with a Buki around somewhere too. All are big heads. There'd be more around i reckon.

Thanks for the offer TNO

Picked up a King F6 baffler to give a run and just shafted up my old j33 hybrid so will see how these go

No worries, Baffler should be a great choice.

I was going to suggest King F7 as that to me launches higher than the old G30 that I had. Its currently on 19.5*.
When I can flush them of course, but I think that baffler works. Have used in really dodgy lies and still goes alright.

So shootout this morning between the King F6 Baffler with Accra ST60 vs Bridgey J33 21* with Aldila Serrano 85s

Hands down the bridgey came out on top and the old faithful has made its way back into the bag....

Will put the F6 up in the pro shop shortly
