Well, as most of you know, I sold my R510 to golfer69.

I now need to buy a new driver as the guy who was gonna sell me his R510 tour traded it in when he got his R7( [-X :( ) so I'm in the market for a new driver.

I am really looking for either a :

Titleist 983 (K or E)
Taylormade R7 (retail or TP)
Cleveland Launcher 400 (with the right shaft, these can be awesome)
Nike Ignite 410
Nakishima something

If you have anything else, please post what you have, but I can not have a driver with a loft higher than 9.5.

Thanks guys,

Nick

The shaft in that TP would not be for me mate, would not suit me at all.

Would you sell it head only, cause I would be keen if the Harmon was in it.

Just one question - you want 9.5 loft minimum, but would settle for a 983E?

nick
4th August 2004, 07:42 PM
Sorry, I meant 9.5 loft maximum, I launch the ball high with spin.

Nick,

I have an SMT 455 Deepbore in 8 degrees with YS-6 SX flex shaft (spined). It was left uncut at 46.5 inches so you can cut it down to whatever length you want. It doesn't have a grip on it, but I'll include a Lamkin cord grip that you can put on after cutting it to length.

It has sole wear but no dents or dings. The crown is perfect with no sky marks.

I'd be looking at around $175 but willing to negotiate. I live in Sydney north shore area, so you can have a look for yourself if you want.

Fishy, you ho, are you sick of your driver already?

Fishman Dan

Ap - nah, but as intimidating as the SMT looks with the head size, it's pretty easy to hit, even if it was just a 7 or 8 deg face.

I saw another 300Ti (with stock shaft) go for more than mine on eBay the other day - so i'm still more than happy with my purchase ;)

I used ozmacleod's SMT DB a couple of weeks ago. Hit some alright shots with it, tended to go right. Didn't mind it. Didn't take any notice of how far I was hitting it though.

Of course you didn't  :^o

Sorry for the apparently threadjack Nick - but seriously try and get your hands on one for a demo, you might like it.

Jono - is that the SMT i hit at Macquarie?

Yep, it sure is. :D Now that all my clubs are in one place (ie. Sydney), there's no need for me to have two drivers. Out of the DB and Spectrum, I think the Spectrum suits my swing better.

I had a look at Terence's Ashton driver ... very tempting ...

Jono, we can meet at my work on Saturday if you want, but I can only do before 12:00 cause I have soccer, but you could always come down on the Sunday cause I'm working all day.

I'd like to see what it looks like.

What happened to the Ashton?

Jono, Ashton had an accident whilst changing the shaft, ie stanley knife at 3 paces straight down the back heel. Quest is continuing, now restricting search to 400CC or less.

Wow..rip off.
Fishy said he saw them brand spankers in a Sydney shop for $59.
They do tend to overprice their used clubs. :?

Fishman Dan

Hey, they were spotted in a bag at Drummond's, North Parra/Northmead. They were the genuine article. Varying lofts, untouched.. 'MINT' i think is the term that HO's use.

They were near the entrance... i don't think they could get anyone to steal them either..
