Project x vs KBS tour

Going to reshaft my RSI2s, as they have recoil noodles in them.

Used to have project x 5.5 in my ap2 710s, and they seemed stable, and launched high enough.

I have S300s in my ap2 712s, but would like something higher launching for my new set.

Will KBS give me a higher launch?

Peoples thought on PX vs KBS tour?

Any other suggestions for a steel 120 gram shaft that launches higher than s300?

I've used both. I probably prefer the feel of PX but have had a lot of success with sets with KBS tour. I have actually hit the RSI2 on a LM with KBS tour stiff in them and can't remember a better set of numbers from an iron. KBS Tour should launch higher and for me, they tend to spin less than S300's too. Having said all that though, I don't currently use either but if I were to choose out of the two, I'd probably go back to PX. I just really like the feel of PX.

Horses for courses, I am playing soft stepped C Tapers and have the most penetrating flight I've had in a long time. Mind you, I'm chopping it off 9, so take that on face value :)

I'd say PX, C Taper and DG were roughly the same but C Taper and PX were a flatter flight. Different peak height. KBS Tour would be the highest of the 4 but certainly not high. Check out the Titleist custom options booklet online Dave. It shows launch and spin comparisons of all the iron shafts you're talking about. Don't forget everyone is different though. Club delivery and swing speed play a huge role in shaft performance. You're only truely going to know how they work for you once you've hit them.

Yep, KBS Tour will launch higher than Dynamic Gold.

As for KBS Tour against Project X... PX feels stouter, and will produce less launch/spin than KBS Tour. Among KBS shafts, Project X is probably closer to C-Taper.

Mind you, I've only had one set of KBS Tours and I didn't like them... over 5 years ago, too.

I'm seeing the same with my 130X CTapers. Spin is reduced and the launch appears higher. I actually got them to reduce launch but I much prefer what they ended up giving me.

Yep. Straight into MP33's. Although I just got a fresh set from KBS as a warranty due to bent tips. Not sure I'll stay with them if the tips bend again. Which leaves me thinking what the hell I'll go to??

I've been playing C-Taper S+ for a few years now, and have never had a problem... but I see a few people say the same thing, the tips bent.

Have thought about switching to X flex. In the wind I wouldn't mind a little less spin, and I've ordered S+ a few times and the manufacture has built/shipped Stiff, which has been a pain for me and my local shop.

So, S+ to X in these -- any experience?

I got fitted to PX 5.5 for my i200's. Same launch as KBS tour but my shots seemed more consistent flight-wise.
I'm a 26 handicapper though so take my advice as it is. I have a history of tennis elbow but the shafts seem quite good so far.

According to 2 professional fitters in Australia I should be in an S300/PX 6.0.

Had another fitting overseas a few years back and he thought I could/should play a CTaper 130X.

Came home, put them in and haven't looked back (except for the bent tips [emoji23]).

Going back to modus but my pick would be the project X!

icandy is right DP. LZ launches higher than the normal PX. I've got an idea. Just buy a new set of Titty 716 irons and you can get them with Project X LZ steel shafts at no upcharge!

I'd give the Modus shafts a go if you can have a chance, been working our really well in my latest bats.
