Ok, the Missus is turning 40 in a weeks time which is a tragedy for a few reasons, not only do I break a long standing record of never 'knowing' a 40yo woman before, but I am totally perplexed about what to give her, apart from the obvious record breaking.

Anyone got any bright ideas?

Its not as easy as you might think;
- She is too much of a snob to buy something cheap.
- If i spend to much she will accuse me of wasting money.
- jewellery is out unless its 24 carat gold or a diamond bigger than your thumb, so thats not gunna happen.

Would a Pure Indulgence <-- spelling? coupon works? I found it works on 90% of female population of any age.

Some new cookery? She will be happy and you and your children benefit from it too?

Your original post before you deleted it was pure gold!

Keep it up.

Mark

A voucher to a day spa is always a good option.

just: yeah I know... but with 2nd thought I probably better wipe it... as Mark's a christian.

An 18 year old to step in where you're no longer required (or able)?

Flowers...give me a call.
Seriously......I've got nothin. Day spa is a good idea - but us girls also like something we can keep. Nup - shouldn't have even bothered replying - I'm just not a girly girl. Give me a new driver any day.

Handbag- nah need to choose that yourself ( like buying a golf bag for someone else)
Leather boots - some real cool boots - as long as the shop will let you exchange if they are wrong ( and they will be)
.................what the heck...just get her the toy boy - that's what I'd choose.:smt002

How about re-creating past special moments? E.g. first date, when you proposed etc.

take yourself on a holiday for a week and leave her at home.

That's the best present you could give her Blakey.

Blakey, whats your address? I'll send you up some entertaining media that she will just love. No charge. Nice tasteful stuff (mostly). You'll thank me later.

Jack.

MarkTHEBlake,

This might be a stupid and laughable present. How about a little surprise get away and spending some quality times together?

And make sure you bring the right club with you! ;)
