Haven't seen anything in Sydney. I'm wondering if anyone on OZGolf has visited a TPI instructor. I'd like to read a reveiw.

Just to add to this, I'm still doing so great with all my training. If anyone is serious, or just wanting to be in better shape body wise for your golf, seriously use a TPI trainer.

It's amazing how much better I feel now, just under 25kgs lighter, much stronger, fitter, healthier and my back feels incredible

It really has changed my life, not just the golf

I was booked to see a guy in Yering but he had to postphone and I'm returning to Sydney tomorrow. Apparently there is someone qualified in Ryde (Sydney), I'm waiting for details.I'm too lazy to get hard core like you but I'm interested in a screening and a program. It would certainly be of better value than a new driver.

Thanks for that post, very insightful. I've been working on losing weight and getting fitter this year. I've lost 15kg this year and still have about 20kg to go. During my lesson on Thursday my instructor told me I might see more benefits working with a TPI trainer for a while to improve my posture and fitness, plus avoid any back issues before coming back for more golf lessons. Definitely motivated to go and do it after seeing your success.

Thanks, if I can inspire one person to change their life, I'd be very happy. Its so pleasing to see yourself progress to your goals, better golf, less pain and a healthier life.

My back was so bad I had no choice, now I can warm up before play, walk 18, and I'm pain free, and it's massive!

If you were in Melbourne, I'd be happy to put you onto my trainer, I know he will look after you, it's not just the $$ he cares about, he has a real passion for golf and helping out!

Toddy I've looked into this a couple of times in Sydney... closest I have found was Matt Green.

I actually went to him for a screening once as requested by a coach at the time and then back for a physio issue. He was working out of Bondi Junction at the time which prob would have been good for you, but lived at Ryde and left Bondi to do some things closer to home.

Still has his website I originally found him but not sure how up to date that is: http://www.highperformancegolf.com.au/matt_green.html

Also found this one: http://www.precisionphysio.com.au/team/concord-team/matt-green/

Last I heard he was setting up something out of Olympic Park I think. Search Matt Green quite a bit comes up about him.

He did a lot of work with Golf NSW, etc. is a physio and TPI certified plus a nice guy... Might be your man?

I wonder if the contact details I'm being sent are the same guy? Anyway this could be the ticket. I'll look into it next week. I lost all interest in working out when I stopped competing in Judo, I'm looking for some inspiration before I get stiff and fat (not in the good way) 😉

No probs mate, I look forward to hearing how you get on.

I'm also assuming you need to get into shape to swing that long bomber. Can;t believe it only took a year to pass it on to L! ;)

Thanks for putting this up Waz. Will look into this guy as well. If he's at Ryde/Olympic Park, that's not to far from me so could be quite good.

I've been seeing a TPI trainer for a few months now, had my first session in mid march and have been seeing him every 2 weeks since. I didn't end up going with the trainer Ray reccomended because he was a bit too far away but the trainer I've been seeing has been great. He's really passionate about helping people and has a really knows his stuff, not only has my golf improved dramatically but I feel a lot better in general. We started by working on improving my golf posture and building a specific muscles to help me get more rotation during my swing. Now I'm working on continuing to increase flexibility and rotation as well as building strength. The TPI trainer I've been seeing has also been communicating with my golf instructor which is great because they can provide feedback to each other.

In terms of golf progress I've gone from shooting around 110 to low 90s. During the last round I played I shot 82 with two holes left to play. Unfortunately I tore a tendon in my arm on the 17th tee shot but breaking 90 was in sight. He has also been great in helping me recover from the injury as well. He gave me a number of exercises and massages to help recover which seem to be helping.
