I have some KBS Tour 120 stiff 9i/PW shafts in some wedges at the moment. I really like them but I think they go a bit high. What is out there that is lower launching? I have some modus 125 wedge shafts that I could try but not sure if they will be the solution. Any advice or knowledge of the 2 or any other lower launching wedge shafts would be awesome. The heavier the better. Cheers.

What is the idea behind having lower launch wedge shafts? Does less launch = more spin = more bite/check and higher launch = less spin = more likely to roll forward?

For me, I just feel like my wedges are going quite high and falling out of the sky. Prefer they were flighted down a bit lower so I have a bit more control over them.

Cheers Benno, but one day it's low launch wedge shafts, the next it's lines of coke and having adult time with cheerleaders.

If that's the case, I might get me some low launching wedge shafts then!

I had modus 120's in my wedges and they came out too high - switched to Modus 115 wedge shafts and the flight has come down considerably

The 120 is the wedge shaft that matches 120 the modus iron shafts just another Pw shaft from the 120 shafts then they have a 105 115 125 wedge specific shafts.

Dotty so funny!
Jazz, I found the Nippon 125WV (Wedge specific) has an initial lower launch that probably most wedge specific wedges have. However, I felt the shaft drug through the ground. I could feel it dragging as the divot was made where as a DGX100, DGS300 or Nippons 120TX shafts dont have that dragging through feeling.

Hit the Modus 115, 125 with new Cleveland RTX-3, 115 definately suited me. No upgrade cost too with the RTX-3, so I'm definitely considering them.

Yeah, you're right Matt. I had those irons for ages and the flighted wedge shaft did go low. If I change, that could be a good option.

Tiger step an x flex 8iron shaft, that will keep it low.

Haha, not sure I'd get that off the ground!

What about Shimadas folks? Any feedback on them out there?

My favorite Wedge shafts (HW 120). I don't really get fixated on wedge shaft launch characteristics. I am more interested in control, feel and spin control. But I would say they launch comparatively more toward lower than higher.

Thanks Daves. In the end, I'm probably just going to have to try a few to see what works best.

Weird,

I just play X flex shafts DGS300 in my 2 wedges, the club is so short, i find it makes no difference with most shots unless it is a full shot. For those wanting more spin, just put and 8 iron shaft in.

I dont like the club to feel head heavy with wedges... i like to feel like i am swinging a heavy shaft - not a flexible shaft with a lump of metal on the end.

My 2 cents
