With our impending move, a few things will be missed by us. Our doctor who is just fantastic, even robyns hairdresser (who takes care of my fantastic doo as well) and muchly so our dentist. We only found him recently, and having been to many different dentists/specialists over the years he is absolutely top of his field. In the last 6 months I have probably spent about 15 hours in his chair and have never felt more at ease. And he is a magician at reconstruction.

I would consider travelling back to toowoomba for appointments to see him.

What's the funny part. His practice is in toowoomba but he lives in mooloolaba on the sunny coast, 15mins from where we will be moving too

We have been talking about playing some golf when we move up there, and he also said that we will enjoy our lives so much more when we get up there.

But we hate the thought of having to replace these 3 specialists in our lives. It's hard when you have so much trust in them to have to start again.

I have no attachment to any specialists. I just changed my dentist, so I only have to walk across a park to one now, not that I visit often.

We have changed the vet we go to though. Simpson will be going to one on the Sunshine Coast now instead, as the one at Indooroopilly was charging ridiculous prices.

I was best man for a mate who is a dentist.... and he's bloody good too. As much as I fear dentists - and they are sadists, believe me - he's dead set the best i've been to. If you're ever in Sydney, let me know ;)

i tend to go to t he dentist that's closest to where we live, just makes it easier.

Doctors however, are a different story. We've been seeing our family doctor for as long as i can remember and he's just fantastic. I wouldn't dream of going to anyone else.

I've just finished having 21 teeth rebuilt, and the man is a genius. When I was back in there yesterday and he looked at the work he did 4 months ago, even he told me he was a genius (did I mention medest too). And not one needle in all that work too (and I don't mind dentist needles).

Same there too Jarro. We found our current doctor after having jasmine and she's been there through all the stuff going down over the last 4 years. She gave us priority care; basically if we rang we got an appointment regardless (she's usually days in advance); and assisted at robyns last c-sect.

I'll get on my soapbox here: go every 6 months at least. No one wants to spend hours sitting in the dentist chair at a time.
I reckon in the last 6 months I've had 2 x 15mins, 2 x 30mins, 1 x 1hr, 1 x 2hrs (yesterday) and 2 x 4hrs. Your jaw is really saw after 4 hours. In fact yesterdays was 4 months after my 2 4 hour appointments, and damn if my jaw didn't remember and was sore after just a few minutes.

My longest so far is with a specialist in brisbane about 14 years ago. He cleared a whole day for me, and had to keep taping me on the head towards the end of the day to keep me awake.

Hint to all you parents: if you hear your kids grinding by them a mouth guard to sleep with. It's a lot cheaper.

The dentists don't mind if I pop in every 18 months for my checkup.

Whilst I was living in Sydney I went to my Doc and Dentist in Canberra. (nearly 15 years with both of them) Once I moved to Cairns I had the devils own job of finding replacements. Ended up with a good dentist at Gordonvale but still hadn't found a doc I liked when we left 18 months ago. Same here in scarrybugger, yet to find either that I am comfortable with. Not to mention the docs arguing with each other over the treatment of my DVT whilst I was in Hervey Bay hospital. Not good for your confidence!
