yeah, it's been a bit chilly. Was 0 deg last night. Got the oil heaters though, so don't notice until you go outside.

played Nudgee yesterday with perci and a couple of other mates. I'm sure on the radio they said it was around 5 degrees when we teed off.

I took the first pic from down the first fairway, just past the dam, looking back at the clubhouse. The second pic is of our mate Pete after he hit his approach into the second green.

First time i've ever played golf while there's been frost on the ground

You guys are sooks. I remember 1.5 years ago when jaster and I played at least twice (sometimes more) a week before work. Forget about frost, when the grass snaps in half under your feet and every shot feels like a shank you know it's cold.

For the record, we were both crazy and obsessed.

Canberra is good for that too.

Sooks, Winter here in South Western Sydney means teeing off @ 7am with the temp following the Hour until around 8:30 - 9. I once played at Penrith with frost that think it was building up like snow on my shoes as we walked up the fairway.

Where Trung now lives during winter the actual ground freezes to a certain depth. Many courses won't let you out until 10-11am on "freeze days" because they don't want you damaging the dormant turf.

Is Indy one of the places where all-year golf is a luxury the Yanks can't have. I met some yanks once who could not believe that I could play golf all year round.

i remember reading a thread on BSG where a yank was saying he could only play golf for 6 months of the year.

The other 6 months he played on the simulator at the local golf shop

When I was a kid we went to the US of A in December (their winter). I played an early morning round with my Dad & Uncle in Raleigh (North Carolina). I remember someone hitting a ball into a lake short of the green on one hole. The ball promptly bounced off the lake and onto the green. Another hole was short par 3 green in the shade of some trees. The ground was frozen and the dew had formed a solid sheet of ice on the surface of the green. Try getting your ball to stop on that! The other thing I remember is my dad blading an iron shot and hitting a passing moose in the ribs!
