I've just installed a mod that separates the stickies and normal posts in each of the forums, which was something that I had installed on the phpBB forum. I think it looks much better, the stickies should stand out from the others.

Another new function added, which I think will be pretty handy.
This function makes the first post of a thread get displayed at the top of every page of that thread.

For example, in the 1st Tee forum, you can keep all the details about the round in the first post (via editing). It can then be seen throughout the thread and people won't have to search through several pages to find out the info.

A couple of examples:

http://www.ozgolf.net/forums/showthread.php?t=4504&page=11

http://www.ozgolf.net/forums/showthread.php?t=3529&page=5

Same deal for the Pro Shop, all the details up the top regardless of which page you are on.

http://www.ozgolf.net/forums/showthread.php?t=4790&page=2

At this stage, I have only got it running on the 1st Tee forum (but not Champs/Matchplay sub-forums) and the ProShop forum, as there are definite benefits in having it running in these. It can be added to any forum though. What's in the Bag? Or if it was in every forum, it may help to keep threads on topic (haha)? Let me know your thoughts.

Also let me know ASAP if you notice any problems, such as disappearing posts.

I haven't done that much to the forum, since we changed over to the new software, but I'll try and add stuff on a more regular basis now. I have a wishlist of functions.

And if anyone else has an idea for something to be added, then post something in our suggestion box.

Considering it's the first time that it's been needed, it's hardly essential functionality.

I had noticed that a couple of people had tried to use the strikethrough bbcode and failed, so I have now added it.

There is a button for it in the Advanced posting, or use the bbcodes, as below.

This is text that has a strike through itproduces

To keep what you changed visible is one reason.

This function makes the first post of a thread get displayed at the top of every page of that thread.

Could this be done in this thread (http://ozgolf.net/forums/showthread.php?t=3136) and a link to the chatroom be added to that first post?
That would save having to navigate back to the forum index to find the chatroom.

No, it's done on a forum basis, not a thread basis.
So it looks like you are going to have to have one extra click to get to the chatroom.
The chatroom link is available on the forum index, portal or on the sidebar if you use it.

Aha! No problems. I never noticed it there on the sidebar. Problem solved!

I've just added some statistics to the bottom of the forum index.

You will now be able to see the most members and guests ever online separately (unfortunately it doesn't backdate), who has been online in the last 24 hours, and the most ever members online in a 24 hr period.

Do you hate having to scroll to the top of the page to find the new posts link after reading a thread? Or do you just click the browser's back button after reading, then have to remember what you have read and what you haven't?

I see a few nodding heads.

Well you can stop tearing your hair out about it now, as a new mod has taken away this problem. :)
At the bottom of every thread there is now a link to the new posts page. Joy!

Are you sure you want a red or yellow card?

They are for giving infractions. You can develop a whole points system for offences that can add up to a suspension/ban etc.

None of the above. I have the New Posts url saved as a favourite, and have placed it in the IE toolbar. I was going to hotkey it, but now that andy has added the ignore thread button, the New Posts link has become somewhat redundant

I have exactly the same. 8)

Edit: except not in a Micro$oft browser.

Not at all. Micro$oft DO have a Mac version of IE, but it's as shite as all their other products. 8)
