Just setting a placemark for a round on the Friday before the Champs.

I'm going to take the day off and head upto the Sunshine Coast early.
So we would probably have this around the Sunny Coast, possibly Nambour (they have a Friday open comp).

If he does, put both he and myself down as possibles as well ;)

I've gotta take princess to daycare first thing, but can make it if the game is mid-morning..... I've never played Nambour, but would consider anywhere in Brisbane too.

It may not be Nambour, considering my Coast plans have been shattered, then again with plenty of us going, I'm sure there is spare seats in cars. We'll work something out a bit closer.

AndyP
8th September 2006, 05:31 AM
It looks like Nudgee might be more practical to host this one now.
For those staying at Bribie, it wouldn't be much difference in driving, maybe less. And it's certainly a lot closer for us in Brisbane.

Is this okay with those that have their name down?

Jarro
8th September 2006, 05:33 AM
OK by me

BrisVegas
8th September 2006, 07:47 AM
I'd prefer Nudgee over Nambour, but then I'm constrained by having to drop wife & bub at work & daycare in the morning.

Mid-morning start ??? 9-10 ish ??

Morning is usually the preference.

Vegas has asked for 9-10-ish, so probably 8?

Nudgee has a Single Stab comp on that day.

If that's what we all wanna do i'll try and get in early and get us a good slot

Sounds good to me. Plenty of time to relax at the fairways resort after it then!! I have to get kids to daycare in the morning, so anytime after 8:30 is fine by me.

What times does Nudgee normally leave for the comp? Is it 2 blocks? eg. 6:30-8:30 then 11-1.

As per the other thread just as a possibility mind you, Pacific have their Blue Marker challenge on this day it is a really good test. is usually about 25 bucks but i will check this on the weekend. Times are 6-8 and about 1030 to 1230. Should be able to organise the earliest arvo time if anyone is interested.

Jarro
22nd September 2006, 11:22 AM

Could be a rather large group by the looks of things.

As long as I knew numbers and get all names etc at least 3 weeks before I could have a word with Jo our golf manager and see if I could get a block of times held.

Stoney (pencil)I'm not sure where Bruce is staying on the Thursday night. If it's Bribie, then Nudgee would definitely be easier for him. And Dave may be driving down from Bundy.

I'm not too fussed on where we play, now that it's not on the Coast.

If we could sort something out soon in the meantime I will suss out whether I can get them to hold off 4 groups for us.

Do we need a poll for Pacific vs Nudgee?
I think Bruce is on holidays, so we haven't been able to get input from him.

Not sure where Bruce is staying, I am staying on the GC, Elanora.

BrisVegas
26th September 2006, 11:22 AM
Are Flowergirl and John interested in the Friday game too? They're staying at Fairways... I don't know if they've got transport though...

AndyP
26th September 2006, 11:39 AM
They don't have transport, unless they relied on someone else. Also, last year they preferred not to play too much golf, so might be hesitant to play three straight days.

Bruce
26th September 2006, 08:33 PM
So many conversation threads to watch.

I am not booked anywhere yet for Thursday night and was intending to find 'somewhere' in the Sunshine Coast region as we were going to go to Nambour.

Now we are going elsewhere I will be looking for somewhere near wherever it is we are playing.

Too late to change flights as we went with the super bargain ones that have a list of restriction as long as your arm.

Name the place for Friday and I will work out where I will stay and how to get there.

AndyP
26th September 2006, 09:57 PM
Sorry Bruce, I really wanted to host at Nambour, but the outlaws change of plans snuffed that.

Looks like I'll be playing two consecutive Pacific Back Marker comps.

Bruce.......John and I are going to hire a car and we have booked an extra night ( thurs) at Bribie. You are more than welcome to grab a lift with us and there is a spare room on Thursday night if you want it. If you want the hire car for Friday - I am sure that we can come to an arrangement. John and I won't want to play golf on FRiday - AP is right. 3 days in a row is too much.
Not trying to be bossy Bruce - just helpful:mrgreen:

Bruce
27th September 2006, 10:21 AM
So we'll travel as a group straight to Bribie and then sort it out from there?

We'll probably need to get a larger hire car - but I kinda had that in mind anyway.

Sorted.

goughy
30th September 2006, 06:26 AM
After what ap experienced at pacific on friday, I would vote for nudgee. Also, if bruce is heading from bribie, nudgee will be about the easiest place to find. Only one turn and 5 secs off the highway. And not too long a drive.

30th September 2006, 07:33 AM
Not likely andy. You're more the boss than me. And since I won't be there.....

Just put 2 and 2 together and came up with 5. And I haven't been on much lately and need to boost my post count. But I just couldn't bring myself to post either of the following:

'what's replacing this'
'got pics'
'practice shortgame alo'
'FFS [-X'
'my bag is set'

With more numbers, this would definitely be a preference for the matchplay final, if not the Champs. But I guess it depends on availability.

Jarro
6th October 2006, 07:48 PM
What sort of tee-time are we looking for ??

Grunt
6th October 2006, 07:48 PM
Have enough erasers to get them in the game?

AndyP
6th October 2006, 07:50 PM
I think Vegas was after 9:30-ish. This would probably suit most.

Grunt
6th October 2006, 07:54 PM
A later tee time would suit me too, as I will be leaving the GC for the champs that day and an early tee time will have me like a drifter if we are finished before we can check-in up at Fairways.

PeteyD
6th October 2006, 08:00 PM
I wouldn;t worry about it grunt. Fairways is about an hour from nudgee, and we can always go to the pub or golf club for a while.

Grunt
6th October 2006, 08:05 PM
If I get to a pub I might like a drink then I won't feel like the hour drive ;)

AndyP
6th October 2006, 08:07 PM
I think Petey is implying that you do the drive first, then find the pub. Could get very, very messy.

PeteyD
6th October 2006, 08:09 PM
Yes - Drive to Fairways. Go to Bribie Golf Club. Drink and be merry, without forgetting to check in at some time. I am going straight there from Nudgee, as I imagine Bruce will be, so you won't be the only one.

Grunt
6th October 2006, 08:11 PM
ohhhhh, now i understand ;)
We drive, we check in and then we Drink:p.

Jarro, why is there the assumption that we need to play together. Everyone should know that we play almost all our golf together.

I have to live with her.... thats bad enough

Grunt

If it helps I will play with just about anyone, I don't really care. Gee this place is getting testy lately, lots of little squabbles going on.

BrisVegas
11th October 2006, 11:27 AM
Not everyone's squabbling grunt. I'm cool. 8)

Hey, why don't we play as a 16!! I used to play in a massive group midweek at City GC in the "chook run". Sometimes we'd have 12-15 players in one group! Was great fun, as you'd have people putting out while others were chipping and other still moving on to the next tee. Crazy stuff and good for a laugh. Wonder if the groovy cats at Nudgee would dig it??

Grunt
11th October 2006, 11:49 AM
Well as I said I don't really care as I am playing with quite a few different people on my trip
Yourself @ Carbrook
Bruce @ Riverlakes
Paul @ Burleigh.
Also have played with Shazza, Jono, Jarro & Pete previously so like I said I dont really care who I play with so long as it is an enjoyable day in which I have no doubt it will be.

Shazza, you might want to talk to your club or nudgee or someone tomorrow. They've stuffed up your golflink entry. I had the same thing happen to me at Mt Coolum. They've entered your points correctly but not you hc. So you're actually dropped rather than gotten .1 back. Let's just say that pete's got no bragging rights till it's fixed.
