PXG. Anyone heard of this new club manufacturer?

I read a news feed that Zach Johnson and Billy Horchel are signing on to play PXG equipment next year. I'd never heard of them. Apparently they have a couple of ex Ping engineers on staff.

Yep, been around for a bit. I don't know both of the Ping guys but Mike Nicollette (I think that's his name) is one of them. Was a long time Ping engineer. Ryan Moore has been using PXG irons this year and there are few that have been testing the driver, Charles Howell III is one that comes to mind. Wow, surprised to hear ZJ is going to switch to them.

yep, been available in Aus through Cool Clubs for a while, but are super expensive.

Interesting tech that won't make an impact because it won't look good in peoples bags.

Ok so how expensive are we talking just for interest? I just found a website, the one thing I do like is not having a new product out unless they can make real improvements, rather than yearly product cycles.

Made for people who have plenty of money to waste, they should market them with Audi cars.

He purchased a golf club in Scottsdale Arizona. Jazz is correct that PING engineers Mike Nicolette (Beat Greg Norman to win the Bay Hill in the 80's) and Brad Schweigert left to join PXG as did PING's tour rep Matt Rollins.

Not really making a big splash this week at Kapalua. Zac is using Titty irons and has a small logo on the side of his hat. For a new brand launch its not really what you want or hope for

Very ping like at address apparently. No surprises there. Concept was to build the ultimate hi-tech clubs with no expense spared. In reality a niche club for rich golf snobs.
Hollow blade design screams poser to me (talking of golf snobs.....confession) but shovelly looking, flubber filled, full off silly screws irons does not really do it for me.
There has been a "tour" version of the irons released also. Apparently with less offset and may be a little smaller.

Yep. I hit the six iron at a pure form fitting. They are amazing both in performance and price. About $3600 landed with i95's although cool clubs quoted me $4k!

I hit the PXG 0311 on saturday at PureForm.

Quite possibly the sexies iron ibe ever seen, even better than the photos.

Unfortunatly, i dont swing the club fast enough to get the most out of it, is it came off very low spin for me, which coralated to a distance loss.

Feel was real nice, not Z745 soft, but pretty close.

If you hit your 6i in the 90mph mark, these may well be brilliant

According to some ads I saw today, it was his use of the Pro V1x and/or Footjoy shoes that were responsible for his win. The irons didn't get a mention in either ad.

But, PXG seems to have picked some good pro endorsers, if TV exposure is the measure. Gerina Piller has been in contention every week since she put on her PXG hat.
