New guy from South Australia here.

A bit about me:

Started playing golf at a young age (9ish) with my father. Ended up quitting back in 06 due to school, at the time i think my handicap was high teens. Picked up the club again a few months ago and was bitten by the bug. Now myself and a mate (beginner) are loving it and plan on playing a bunch of courses over the Christmas break. Looking forward to learning more about the game from you guys and contributing to the community. Cheers!

In my bag:

Driver: Taylormade M1 10.5 Degree (Reg Flex 60g shaft)

Wood: Nike CPR Recovery (22 Degree)

Irons: Titleist 716 AP1's (5-PW)

Wedges: Titleist Vokey 56 and 60 Degree (Black)

Putter: Nike Blue Chip

Bags: 10.5" Titleist Staff bag, Titleist Staff stand bag

Used to be a Nike fanboy, but now i'm loving the Titleist gear.

Welcome aboard Knighty.

Being a member of Grange will be a massive advantage here. You a member anywhere?

We have a decent sized bunched of scalliwags getting around down your way.

Cheers,
Ben

Thanks Ben.

Not a member at any course at the moment, just grinding out par 3 and range practice at a local course. My mate that i go around with is very new to the game, so i'm waiting until he's confident enough to play at a par 5 until we settle with a specific course.

Thank you.

Yeah, seems like it. I was planning on getting a 3 wood at some point, might have a look at an Aero Burner next time i've got some spare cash. I've got a old Nike Gap Wedge from my old set lying around that i may chuck into the mix. Still getting used to the new clubs though. Specifically, the irons have a lot lower loft compared to my previous set.

If he doesn't, then the title gets handed back to the last holder.

Welcome Knighty.

Welcome knighty.

Keep an eye out in the 1st Tee area for the next SA day. It's a good way to meet a few of us. We generally aren't so bad...

Where are you based in SA? North/south? Metro/country?

And we haven't got to the important issues?

What is your local kitchener bun source, and can we please have a review?

Welcome to the nut house knighty92.
As mentioned by others, keep and eye on the 1st tee thread for S.A organised games and feel free to join us.
Most importantly where do you stand on Schnit and the mighty Kitchener Bun?

Not your champ, Hatchman

Down South mate. I've got 2 local courses; Penfield and Salisbury Green. S.G. is more than likely going to shut down soon though. I don't mind traveling to play, going to have a lesson with Simon from North Adelaide this weekend i believe. Looking forward to playing on that course. Might have a hit at Regency and Glenelg over the holidays too.

Is Salisbury Green a par 3 course?

How far from the prestigious North Lakes are you?

Correct Hatch; formerly Little Para River, once voted best par 3 in the country. Amazing parkland spoilt by poor management and bogans who spray paint (tag) greens, steal range balls and trash the facilities

I might have to have a hit before it's gone forever.

Your being harsh on the natives to the area. They need some thing to do between using a crack pipe and aquiring a bag of weed.

I am also living up north and have played most courses around Penfield.
How did you find that track?

Probably a 15 minute drive. I haven't ever played there before though.

Lol.

I played there a lot as a kid, even with the senior club. It was a great little course, but over the years it's changed hands a lot and slowly gotten worse. Probably too costly to keep repairing all the vandalism..

I found it good still. I used to play there a lot when i was younger, still seems to be in the same condition as it was years ago, which is good to see, and back then it was a members only course.

It's probably easy-medium in difficulty, which is great for my skill level at the moment.
