Nothing's cheap over there - everything's about the same price here when you convert it back to $AU.

The Singapore sales month is May i think - generally because there's no other way to lure people to one of the most disgustingly humid cities in the world other than cheap fashion!

Singapore is pretty light-on with golf shops (there are only 2 or 3 courses on the island?), although there is one on Orchard Rd just down from the Hilton.

I'm sure there are at least 20 at S'pore.

well sitting at the airport waiting for the departure. I doubt I will be coming home on the aircraft that we have changed the engine on, We will have some free time in singapore before flight back home.

Also travel is business class or better, on the way there I have 1st class.

Work will be hard but the pay will be better Double time from the call in phone call this morning until arrival back in Syd, probably on Friday/Saturday.

:P

Grant - i was lucky enough to be given Business Class when i went. There's no comparison, even at that level! LAP IT UP!! ;)

I had to stop drinking fine wine at about Darwin, but you know what they say - If it's free, i'll have three.. or four.. or five... ok, just one more...

We got Skybed's on the trip back! :D

plenty og golf shops on orchard road....
there is a building next to the hilton hotel (corner of scotts and orchard) next close to Planet Hollywood that's full of golf shops...

problem is that the prices are controlled with the bigger chain - I think there are about 3 chains of golf shops operating at least 4 fronts each along orchard road...

stay away from the nike shoes, get the nike dri-fit shirts, and make sure u're not getting JPN-issued clubs (if u don't want them in the first place)...

2-3 courses in singapore??? 5 mins drive from the airport and you've already got access to 5 courses...
problem with the courses in Singapore is that only a few of them are "really" open to the public...
the general trend is that most singaporeans are members of courses across the border in Johore Bahru...cheaper and more courses available to play on regularly...

I think HK has only 4 or 5 on the mainland...

HK has 4 or 5, yes.... only 1 is open to public (but hey at least its designed by Gary Players)

Try to go up north a little more (China Mainland) and just the border city you get probably more than 20.

Mission Hills GC itself already got 10 or 11 courses

Well I am back, got in @ 6am this morning on the British Airways Flight. Worked bloody Hard with 40+ hours work in 3 days. Worked from 2am (singapore time) until 8pm on thursday to get the aircraft serviceable for 9pm flight on Thursday night. Had a half day free yesterday but did not move away from the hotel (Roxy Grande Mecure) much just to a shopping center accross the road. Did not get much just a few little things for Rachelle & Tayla.

Little update,

The total hours worked was 49 hours Overtime :P

Went back to work today to find out that our tools that arrived on the aircraft we had fixed on Friday morning still had not cleared Customs, we were told by our bosses today that they may clear on Monday morning but it may even be held up by the ANZAC Day public hol. and not be cleared until Wednesday,
What a Joke!!!!!! QANTAS is paying me for a weeks work after having to pay me over a fortsnights wage to fix an engine in Singapore but it is going to take longer to get our tools back than it took to get them there and Back!

It will be an easy week of little or no work :-D but in an environment where workmates are losing there jobs. They don't like seeing a guy who's job is not at risk doing SFA :-s .

3 on the left?! WOW!!!

Do you have that pic.

So can it fly with balance? Obviously airplane don't work the way I thought!

Was it a cargo craft that carry 5 engines? or its a passenger plane?

This may help people understand the concept of the carriage of a 5th engine pod.

Also can a 767 carry extra 2 engines? (so make it look like a single deck mini 747 )

Jarro
24th April 2006, 03:48 PM
yeah ALo, i've seen a 767 come into Brisbane with a spare engine attached to the wing.

No 767's do not have spare engine carriage facility.

Jarro you must have had a few too many the night before.
