I picked up a persimmon 3 wood with a reg flex steel shaft from Cash Converters for 4 bucks the other day. It's heavy and flat which is ideal because that's what seems to fit my swing style. I got it just for a bit of fun but it's turning out to be one of the best training aids to practiceand tempo and swininging within myself. When I jump at it, I either top or hook this thing and the ball goes nowhere. When I put a good smooth swing on it the ball goes good.
Does anyone else use an older club like this as a training aid?

Yep, persimmon 5w. And then I started loving it so much that it replaced my hybrid in my bag.

When you cane draw a cane toad over the shed then you have your swing sorted.

I would love to hear what your playing partners have to say about it?.. I suppose the end result of the shot is all that matters.
