Have you got a club in your bag that you fought tooth and nail to love? One that you struggled with from the first shot and after that initial session with it your high hopes were dashed leaving you slightly bewildered. Then with resolve and dogged determination you managed to get results. Slowly you even grew to love and respect it.

Kind of. Had a love hate with my current driver in the bag. Had it for a few months now. Couldn't hit it when I first got it but I've found something in it the last couple of times I've taken her out and I'm starting to love her now.

Exactly.

I have Gumtreed equipment mid comp.

Got rid of an Exotics 4wood after 4 swings. A Taylor hybrid after 2.

I haven't yet grown to love it, but I have persevered with the Cally Razr Fit Xtreme Driver. I still think it feels horrible, but it goes better than it feels. Ditto for most TM Drivers, it is a love/hate relationship with most of them. The AeroBurner and R15 are the exceptions so far. Suspect I would have also got on with the original Burner as well, but have never tried one.

I believe Royal Collection/Sonartec fairways and hybrids fits this bill.

The 910f 3wood fits this, apart from the finally coming good.

If I'd done that with the driver head I got off you Deano, I'd still be swinging my Ping i15. Which isn't a bad thing, it's just not as good as what I've got now.

I had a Cobra SS 427 that I never grew to love. Wanted to push left all the time had to be forced open which then wanted to push right. Didn't really suit me I guess.

Callaway X Forged Mack Daddy Lob Wedge.
First try - chunked or thinned everything. Now it's my go to club for just about everything inside 40 yards (except for the most straightforward of chip & runs).

I can't argue with that assessment. Tying you off the stick is bad golf.
