What are people's views on this topic?

I sometimes see guys selling shoes that they have worn for 4-5 months or a year, "but still have a lot of life left".

To me, this is just nasty. Would you buy second hand jocks too?

I can understand if someone wore them once and found they didn't fit right, but old, worn in shoes? Disgusting.

Am I alone in thinking this?

I'm with you guys. Maybe if they were worn once as JC said, but no way would I buy really used shoes.

I kind of agree. Although I've bought second hand shoes off ebay that have been worn once or twice (allegedly), but the listing needs good photos and the shoes need to be absolutely pristine. And if they turned up and didn't match that i wouldn't wear them. Wouldn't buy shoes that have clearly been worn in.

I'm more weirded out by the buying and selling of second hand clothes than shoes. I'd rather wear another blokes shoes than his pants.

Nope, I wouldn't buy used shoes. I've sold a couple of pairs though. But they were along the lines of used for one round in a cart. And even then I felt wrong selling them so I priced them at less than half what I paid.

Perhaps you could advertise used shoes as forged given that they would certainly have your foot print forged into them ;)

Being the youngest of three boys I didn't even know you could buy new clothes or shoes till I was 14.😀

It is weird. I think I started a thread about it once.

You would sleep in a hotel bed that has had all manner of people doing more than just sleeping in them.

Would go bare foot if it wasnt for the green ants.

I don't think my feet would care if they are used or not.

I bought a pair of used Tour 360's from somebody here..... $20..... most comfy shoes i've ever worn, and they're still going strong.

I don't have a problem wearing second hand shoes.

Golfers play through a lot of wet and hot weather. Unless care is taken by spraying anti bacterial and airing them out, shoes are the perfect breeding ground for bacteria. What do most golfers do? Chuck them in a shoe bag with little ventilation. Thumbs down for me.

I wouldn't buy used shoes. I've actually got a reasonable pair of cheap Footjoy Greenjoys that I'll never wear, and I've been tossing up putting them in the pro shop for a while - to be honest I'd almost prefer to give them away.

I cover insides with Bicarb and leave for a day then vacuum out and presto no odour or bacteria.

I don't really see the issue, if they are still reasonably unworn, and you deoderise/disinfect first as Ferrins suggests. I haven't done it, but only because few have feet as big as mine!, so the opportunity comes up rarely.

I am being serious and I always do this with my shoes periodically and definetly with second hand shoes acquired. It Kills germs because of its alkalinity and works better than pissing in them😀

What size ;-)

Size 9 with a W, which I guess could mean wide, but they're not really wide. I'll put up a thread with pics.

you don't use shoes

That's why they're still in such good nick. :)
