A few years ago, I compiled a list of Golf Courses I have played, and have been waiting for the big 100 to arrive, and sure enough its an official Ozgolf day, this coming August 1st at Southport.

So I have played in 5 states and 2 other countries over 24 years, and been a member of 6 clubs. I know thats not many, but when I look back at the list it does bring back lots of Memories, and even those courses I played 20 odd years ago, I can still remember shots that I have played on each and every one. Although with the Alzheimers setting in, they are starting to get real blurry. (hence the list).

Anyone else know how many they have played?

Blakey, I've got no idea. Never thought of counting them before. I guess I could probably figure it out, if I sat down and thought about it. Most of them are either Brisbane or the Sunshine Coast.

Do par 3 courses count? What about pitch 'n putt?

However, I do keep track of the number of top 100 courses I have played. 17. 8)

Blakey - what a great thread ! - made me sit down straight away and count them - only got to 57 ! - a long way short I know - includes a couple of SEQ ones no longer with us - Aspley Pin High [good riddance ] / Algester [no great loss] / and Pacific Springs [used to be on the way down the coast - I actually really enjoyed playing that course - was the venue for the inaugral Nativity in Black Social Golf Club Porno Classic - ah the memories!].

Damn, this is gonna bug me now until I worked out how many I played....

Pacific Springs was a fun track. I remember playing it in 1992 on our way back to Goondiwindi after the Holden Scramble final at Sanctuary Cove. One of the guys had an ace and we all had much better rounds there than at the scramble. Pity. Not too many cheap, decent courses around down there now.....

Was chatting to G69 this afternoon about this, and had a shocking revelation - I missed one course! That means i already cracked the tonne, and there goes the Celebration next sunday.

but then JOY, i noticed I had another course listed twice. The chips are still on me fellas' :-)

As for the rare courses: Has anyone played Zilzie? (capricorn coast)
not there anymore but one of the best cliff top holes i have ever played.

Ah this thread has motivated me - put me up to 58 - played a new course this arvo - just outside bundy on the way to Gin Gin - Oakwood Park $8 for 18 holes - but really was much better than it sounds ! - some great par 5's - oh and while I remember it the best hole at Pacific Springs was the 3rd - I recall a tree in the middle of the fairway!? and an insane dogleg!? - too many porno's not enough real golf.

PS - 69 where is my Emerald Lakes Nom form?

This IS a great thread, Blakey. Lots of golfing memories (some suppressed ... ). Played my golf in 4 states (including ACT) and 3 countries. I'll have to sit down to count the number of courses, but I'm guessing that it'll be nowhere as many as you.

I do remember my first game vividly. I followed a couple of buddies when I was 15 to a local course (Wakehurst). Lost 5 balls on the very first hole! (bush to the left). Didn't play another game until about 2 years later and I've been hooked ever since.

I'm around the 60 mark.

On the way down to windaroo with Nashy this morning,we were counting his up.

I think we got to the 130-140 mark in Auatralia and well over 20 overseas, lucky bugger.

Do par 3 courses count? What about pitch 'n putt?

I might try and figure mine out. Still need to determine the answer to the above question. :?
Do two seperate 18's on a course count as two courses?

It took a while but we have an answer.

What if I have played 27 of the 36 holes there? :-k

I also just played 13 holes on a course last week? Do we start getting into fractions?

I know you guys love it when I dig old threads up out of the archives......

I've just done my number of courses played update after playing Maryborough and Gainsborough Greens for the first time over Xmas.

I've played 78 full length courses (5 par 3 or pitch and putt), 25 of which are top 100 courses (2004 Golf Digest list).

I finally tracked this ****er down after looking for it a while ago too. I'm going to dig it up for the second time.

I raised the bat for courses played at Jabiru earlier this year it seems, but that includes 5 pitch 'n putt or par 3 courses. After Pacific Dunes, I'm now at 101 courses with 96 of those full length.

I'm up to 111 courses after my trip to Ireland last weekend. Had 85 last November when I moved here and was hoping to get to 115 by the anniversary of my first game here (5/12/08), but found out this week my paper is closing, so now it's into the job hunt again and trying to save some cash by not paying for new courses.

Might still get there, we'll see.

1st - Lower Portland CC
100th - The Old Course, St Andrews
Best - Royal St George's

Rumour has it everyone's favourite guitar master went past 700 this year...

I have it on good authority that he went past 700 quite a few years ago & got sick of counting around 750.

That’s if you’re referring to the same guitar master as I am.

Just did a count and I will pass the 100 at Pelican Waters if I get 1 new course in before the Champs. So if I play at Redcliffe on the Thursday before the champs, Pelican Waters will be 100.
