Tommy Armour did a set in the 90s where all the Irons were 7 iron length!

I had a look at it before and remember it being robustly discussed in a thread a few years back. The majority dismissed it.
I found it quite interesting and would love to have the time and money to give it a try just for the hell of it.

Yeah they are great. Long irons go shorter,and short irons go longer. This concept is really quite old.
Dave Tutleman did a pretty good assessment on them. Google him.

Interesting. I wonder what the distance gaps are between irons.

Yeah, my thoughts are distance gapping must be very different.
Also, would it be the same shaft in each head (a 7 iron)? Would give a consistent flex, but the long irons would play a lot stiffer than normal.

This bloke is in the field this week at the St Jude. See if you can catch some footage of him - at address he looks (well, the angle of the shaft to the ground) heaps upright... .
