Mate, the G30 ia the most forgiving driver out there!
May not suit someone who hits cuts though.

Yeah I fight a hook more than a cut. I had a g25 In 8.5 a few years ago and hit it high as but have changed the swing a bit and hit it a fair bit lower now. Using a 915 d3 in 9.5 now and wouldn't mind a little more height.

8.5 G25 would be the same as a 10.5 D2. G30 craps all over the G25 too

Pretty similar, D3 a smidge higher perhaps. For what it's worth I 've always played 8-8.5 drivers & got the best results with a 10.5 G30. I also had a 9* G30 but preferred the flight of the 10.5. Granted my swing has changed the last year or so & my my 915 D3 was a 9.5 which I was happy with flight wise.

Loft for loft the G30 should be a bit higher.

Yeah I had a 10.5 LS tec and it traveled at a fairly good flight. Just seemed to hit cuts with it, which I don't do with any other driver.

It sits open, did you increase the loft to close the face a bit?

nah, I had it on 9.9 I think, Probably a normal g30 in 10.5 might be better. Prefer a head that sits a bit open.
