Any chance that Qld will declare?

It's a Pura Cup final so you know they'll offer a sporting declaration to make a game of it, somewhere around the 800 mark I think.

But Vics shouldn't give up just yet, it is Qld. Beautiful one day, all out for 50 odd the next.

Moe Norman

i seem to remember all the QLD'ers whining when Victoria batted them out of the final then won by an innings anyway.

If this ends in a draw at least that argument might carry some weight this time.

This obvious playing for a Draw is S H I T. Bit like lara's high score cost his team the chance of anything but a draw a few years ago.

I am certain there will be a result. Demoralised and broken spirited batsman with lead in their shoes after about 250 overs in the field won't last every long.

Agreed, but you're comment about Lara's 400 is a bit off the mark. The windies only batted early into day 3 for about 200 overs, and realistically weren't expecting to have to bat again. That left them nearly 9 sessions to bowl england out twice. England folded for just over 200 and it looked all over, but then they made 5-500 odd. Not much Lara could have done about that, especially since bad light stopped play on the 4th day when they were in a bit of strife in their second innings.

Qld can't make it this year, boohoo, and SA stink, but for the rest it's game on.

Tas need to beat NSW to host a home final, but are already through. Vic and WA need to win their matches, but have to rely on NSW losing to make the final.

NSW 28
Vic 24
WA 24
And what a bizarro couple of matches are happening at the moment.

Tas 370. NSW 53  and 2/58 in reply.

QLD 119 and 269 v VIC 165 and 122 (http://ls.cricket.com.au/HomeFullScorecard9_1047_30.html)

WA had a bit of a collapse to post a much smaller lead than what they could have had against the cellar dwellers.
SA 260 and 2/123 v WA 335 (http://ls.cricket.com.au/HomeFullScorecard9_1047_29.html)

Meanwhile NSW have fought back.
TAS 370 v NSW 53 and 4/313 (http://ls.cricket.com.au/HomeFullScorecard9_1047_28.html)

Looks like it might be a Tas v NSW final after all, depending on whether SA can hold off WA.

I'm glad I didn't have to watch much of it. When I went to a friend's house on the 4th day, the #7 had only just bought up his hundred off (approximately) 300 balls. The NSW bowling attack looked pretty ordinary from what I saw as well.
