I am looking for someone to make me a little knick knack out of 80x25 aluminium flat bar, approx 300 long.

Basically need 8 hole drilled in there so I can use an adapter plate.

4x 8mm holes

4x 10mm holes with countersink

Can supply a sketch. Can pay in beer.

Cheers,
Ben

Bumping this to the top.

Has to be someone out there who has access to some flat bar and a drill press.

I am a machinist but we don't have aluminium and am no where near you, so am of no help. Should be someone around your area, aluminium is pretty easy to drill.

Yeah, the local ali shop will do it but dont have any bar, so would order a full length.

Bloody painful.

Haysey deals with aluminium all the time for window frames. Try sending him a PM.

399x80x25mm bar is a pretty solid lump of ally and its not a common stock size I am aware of.

I have a mill, a lathe, drills and counterbores but I don't have that sort of ally and don't feel like buying it for you regardless of the beer enticement :-)

The beer might be an enticement if you have the ally that you want drilled.....however unless you are coming around to watch and drink the beer afterwards it really ain't fun its work.

Sounds like an excellent workshop setup you have there. Appreciate the offer, but a bit of a hike from Maryborough though.

Yeah its okay for a home setup. Lathe is only 12x36" but the mill is a Taiwanese version of a Bridgeport with a DRO so its pretty capable.
Metalwork is fun stuff.

I think I've asked this before, but does it have to be ally?
