Got an upcoming event that is 36 holes on the day. No carts allowed. What's your best advice to reduce muscle fatigue (which i predominantly have after 18)..

Comfy shoes. Change socks between rounds.
Lots of food and water.
And anti chafe cream

Fluids before and during both rounds more fluid in that first round.

Add pack your bag as light as u can by taking all the usual junk out if your bag. I used a carry bag on a baggy last time I played a 36 hole event.

If time permits, play frequent or take extra long walks as it comes close, play 36holes in one day the weekend before. You need match fitness. Nice rest & food day before with lost of fluid. On the day drink before you feel thirsty & eat before your hungry.
Good luck :)

Shower and change at half time. You'll feel fresh as a daisy for at least 5 minutes

As a gluten for punishment have done this many times and generally find 3 keys:-

1. Night before down 1L of Powerade (or equivalent) and then repeat before and between rounds ... you may need a few extra visits to the trees but your hydration will be key
2. For me wearing "skins" (or general compression type) shorts and under shirt helps relieve fatigue though I'm a carry bag guy and find shoulders feel it first
3. New socks between each round .... small but important if only to avoid your shoes becoming bio-hazards !

Good luck :)This. Harry Vardon would walk 11 miles every day in order to prepare for 36 holes.

Reapply sun cream (evenly or you'll get weird patches on the backs of your legs)

You'd have to be pretty silly...

I have never done it, but would be interested in knowing how playing 36 holes affects your game. I have read about a few people that practice by playing 36 holes in a day. What is the point? I imagine you'd be a mental and physical mess by the end of it. Is there any benefit?
