what died in the old one?

if you have reasonable case and are moving some of the components anyway then why not replace the busted bit? Assuming it is the motherboard then you could get new motherboard and CPU and be on your way.

through in an SSD if you dont already have one

That's what my son wants to do, broken CPU fan care of me, most of the ram don't work not because of me, overheats, broken DVD cause I kicked it. Shit case not enough USB ports. About 5 year old thought it may be time for another.

Sux that tech these days can't handle at least one good swift kick!

Remember the days when that was the way to fix most stubborn items?

Yep, i remember well the days when a shifter and a hammer was all I needed to keep the xb falcon running smooth.

My son says I'm banned from pcs

you need a kick bag to save the stuff in your place.

Your son is on the money with building it himself. The Whirlpool forum has a large number of example builds in different price ranges

msy.com.au
scorptec.com.au
pccasegear.com.au

All have many suburban branches so one will be near you.

That ebay deal is in the right ballpark price for what you get.

Cam looked up his bank balance and shes not flash got to wait a couple of weeks so plenty of time to get a new budget sorted. At least the 4 x Ipads 3 x laptops 1x surface and 2 x Galaxy tabs should cover us in the meantime.

So the eBay one in the first post is pretty much like buying a set of Brosnans and thinking im cool?

Cheers Chappy, Ned sorted what i need for now, ill resurrect it in a couple of weeks.

BTW have used MSY for heaps of parts in the past cheap as
