Is there a hole in one thread anywhere? 8) Had 3 over for 39 points today. 5th flag in a row despite struggling with my swing. Short game is saving me and of course getting an ace doesn't hurt the scorecard

Congrats on the HIO, at your home track? See you can play to handicap there!

I backed up my 40 points last week with a boring 37 points (17/21) today. Really putted poorly and hit some horrible shots on the front 9 especially - but I do feel like I'm on the right track.

Thanks but it wasn't my home track. I've played my last 5 rounds at 5 different courses all away from home. They have all been better than my pb at home

Congratulations, Rodent.

------------

I've played two rounds in the last week.

24/12/14, Maryborough GC, Stableford.

8/13 effective tee shots, 6/18 effective approaches, 2/8 up and down successes, 0/4 sand saves, 32 putts.
0 birdie, 6 pars, 11 bogeys, 1 others.
Scoring: BBPBBPBBP PBXPPBBBB
Score (http://www.ozgolf.net/andyp/Scorecard/rounds/20141224-p161.html): 40-44-84 (+14) stab 14-15-29pts (Par 34-36-70)

All parts of my game had moments of inadequacy and competency, and it was an overall inconsistent round. I didn't hit anywhere enough greens and then struggled to get up and down from those positions. It was one of my worst rounds for a while and had me feeling a bit down about my game.

---------

26/12/14, Nambour GC, Stableford.

6/12 effective tee shots, 10/18 effective approaches, 2/3 up and down successes, 1/3 sand saves, 33 putts.
1 birdie, 12 pars, 4 bogeys, 1 others.
Scoring: PBXPBPPBP bPBPPPPPP
Score (http://www.ozgolf.net/andyp/Scorecard/rounds/20141226-p160.html): 39-34-73 (+5) stab 17-21-38pts (Par 34-34-68)

Started off the round with more of the same, but played much better in the second half of the round with an even par back nine. It's amazing what hitting greens can do to your score. I did get lucky a few times, but I recovered well and the course didn't punish me like Maryborough did.

Next round: Tuesday at Wolston Park with other OZgolfers

7 over yesty at the Riff for 38 pts. Missed at least 5 putts inside a foot that were kick ins & had a 2 x 3 putt pars on a par 5, muck me! Anyhoo's ended up winning the scratch doubles which was a bonus.

Played Southern GC yesterday in beautiful weather and had 5 over for 40 points off 9 - which I am really happy with despite doubling the last as I had a 3 1/2 hr drive to get there and apart from some chips and putts there was no real warm up to speak of - well apart from the banter which started in the first 5 secs of meeting the boys once the practice green. Hit this ball really well for this most part but this thing that saved it for me was the short game as apart from one or two silly mistakes the wedges and putter were on song.

Looking forward to my next game hopefully tomorrow to see if I can continue my current form.
