Saturday is actually the 2nd round... the friday is 1st round with sponsors only, may I sugges that you play in the Arvo round.... they will be playing for the bigger bucks...

Apparently there are not many other events around this time so a lot of the top pro's are thinking of coming to ours... last year we had NIck Flanagan and Steven Bowditch (just to drop a few)....

I'll put you with Scotty if you want... first group off 18 in the arvo...

Sorry ThomMoe those times are the Friday (sponsors day) start times. On the Saturday the pro's will be seeded in regards to their scoring from the friday..

PM Me if you would like to play on the friday with your mobile or contact number ... there maybe a slim chance that the sponsors can not fill all of the spots.... I will let you know by Thursday....

Walking... done.

Car pool.... I was planning to head down the Logan motorway with Zarina (leaving around 6am). My car is pretty small, so don't know if we'd fit a 3rd on board.

If you wanna pick us up, I'll cover the tolls for ya...

Are you gonna be right to drive if you're having a big Friday night?

Riverlakes has come out of the rain remarkably well.... with some real good bouts of rain today and a 25min rain delay for the pro's the pro am has so far been a great success... Some wet and weary players after the first shotgun at 7am, but also the 12.15 shotgun has copt a bit too....

So maybe a good bet to bring some rain gear with ya and maybe a change of clothing for after....

Course is holding up well and hopefully the forecast for evening thunderstorms wont happen.... but all should still be well for the weekend.

Outlook looks fine here now.

Hasn't rained for a couple of hours and we're not expecting any more tonight. Course should be nice and soft and a bit wet under foot, but I don't think we'll get too wet.

If we do get any more rain overnight I'll take the dog for a walk in the morning and check out the course.

Vegas, you're more than welcome to bring a change of clothes and have a shower at my place after the round. We're only 2 mins walk from the 14th/15th holes.

See you tomorrow.

It was a bit dark, but the course looks to be fine.

Some areas are a bit soft, but I didn't come across any lying water in the fairways. Some of the lower lying bunkers were a bit wet, but they weren't too bad.

There was plenty of activity at 4am with headlights blazing all over the front nine.

This should be fun.

Ryan

BrisVegas

Course was in good nic. Only found one area of casual water, left and short of the 11th green. The bunker left of the 1st green was GUR due to a little pond of water at one end, but otherwise course was fine. Coupe of greens a bit rough, but many were pure.

In my group, our pro Scott Single (from Logan CC) had even par.

I had 36 points.
senecio - 34 points.
Zarina - 33 points.

(all of us playing off 8!!)

Thanks for the day Keza! Well done and cheers for the loan of a driver. hope my Long Drive on 13 holds....

senecio
1st April 2006, 05:56 PM
Thanks for organising the day Keza, I had a lot of fun.

Thanks also to Vegas and Zarina, for making it a nice relaxing morning. I hope you guys enjoy the Vodka tonight. :-D

All up I wasn't too dissapointed with 34 pts playing off the back tees. Only a couple of four footers away from playing to handicap. :( (I hate putting!!)

I'm sure these pros are in a different world to ours. Scott didn't have a great day by his standards, but Vegas and I were pretty impressed with how he struck the ball. And then there was the way he murdered the SQ Tour he was using.

There were a couple of times when Vegas got close, but there were also times when there was 60 metres between Scott and us.

Best part of the day was the look of relief Scott had on his face standing on our first tee (5th hole) after I told him we were all off 8 hcp. Yesterday he was partnered with 2 guys that were allocated 27 handicaps on arrival. Combined with the tough weather it must have been a pretty trying day.

The afternoon field should be just about finished. I'm off to the clubhouse for a beer and to check out the presentation.

Congrats to Shazza for picking the Ladies LD.

Congrats to dion for almost getting the LD. It took a lot but I got there in the wind ;) the 454 must work ok.

Great day thanks Keza. Some of the greens were long by the arvo but the course was good after the rain.

It only took alo 3 holes to ask the pro for a cheap ;) driver.

FWIW, I was about 50m past the stick already in the ground with a headwind. Low nuckle drive..... as good as I could hit it.... easily smoked everyone in my group. :)

Rest of the game was very average with a total of 31 points. Was pretty happy though as I played some of my nemisis holes in par. ;)

Our pro, Simon Nash..... a very long hitter. Very impressive golf swing. Has been in the states for the last two years. Nice bloke.

It was an awesome day with Henry Epstein, and Brad Kennedy taking the honours with 133 (7 under).

Well done to vegas for winning the ozgolf contingent. Good to see billybaub and his dad out for a hit.

Standard payment..... keza drinks Jacks/coronas, whichever is most convenient.

ALo....... you are getting charged interest as we speak..... shall we say ..... carton and a half of JD! Was coronas..... late payment fee = jacks!

Go the Hickey/Ralph contingent taking out both LD devisions.... and bringing home the balls.

Bad luck my darling scotty....... must of been the company. Mo :)

Be prepared for a new convert to be arriving soon. Wassup ASTRO?

I've never claimed to be a long driver. That fact that it took one to beat me, shows I can hit it ok for a straight driver! (It was into the wind when we played it too guys! )

BV I'm not a long driver, I'm just a hacker thinking about long drive, for the record Nash is a top bloke and I have to thank him for letting me hit it past him all day, and for the support "you have the length, no laying up in this group" ;) Oh and its hard to overswing when your hitting nuckle balls.

It was a good day, and I hope everyone enjoyed it.

No AP it just the same as mid week rounds at nudgee :) except the golf is cheaper and the you can walk away with real money. BV is welcome any sunday we play because as the pro scores showed the morning was far easier.:)

ok you want a smart **** answer then how is this for a long sentence which I don't know weather it has a point or not or where it could end, wait a second it does have a point, the point of the answer is to be the longest sentence in ozgolf history, which is a title I will gladly try to and up hold and do my best to serve, do I get another one while you are handing them up BV and that would be for the worst speller in ozgolf history, I think this reply may just be long enough, but just wait there could be more or no that is longer then the other one now. :)

But it was a great day.

Sorry but it dosen't read as one long sentence as you've got plenty of coma's in there but they read as full stops when you read the sentence as you seem to come to a complete stop at each one and a new sentence appears to begin but you forgot to use a full stop and just used a coma to make it appear as one sentence but when you read it it reads as several sentences with coma's instead of full stops to give the appearance of one sentence but the grammar is all wrong for one sentence so you come to a stop at many of the coma's so next time you need to dribble on longer and longer to try and make it appear as though you can't take a breath at each break and then it will have the appearance of one long sentence so that is what I would try and do in the future to make one long sentence.

Hope that helps. :shock::mrgreen:
