officially passed all requirements to graduate and get my bachelor of commerce! If i can manage it i'll never partake in education of any sort to the end of my days.

Im excited but i dont know why :smt102.. ive lost all interest in the field ( accounting and finance majors) and have no idea what im gonna do now... maybe I'll think of something during my enhanced state of awareness tonight :smt030 :smt028 should be good

thinking of taking a working holiday around aus for 6 months, will need to find at least one person to drag along tho

Its funny how your goals and targets change if you let them... coming out of high school i was sorta pumped about my BCOM and the work it would lead to, now i wouldnt mind a low pay, low skill job with little or no responsibilty at all. :?

Conratulations, Onabreak. It takes a lot of commitment these days to do what you've done. Although, I know how you feel. Nevermind, it'll all make sense some day...

Congrats onabreak. It's a hard slog.

Just to make you feel better, I studied media and communications at uni (almost finished it too). I now cover lounges for a living  .

You'll work it out mate. Just take things as they come and it'll always sort itself out in the wash.

Now you just need to revell in what you have just accomplished \:D/

Would've liked to have got into the Computer game after school but did'nt.
I've been delivering Air Freight for 17 yrs and making pretty good money but 12 hr days are the norm in the courier game and its not much fun leaving home in the dark and getting home in the dark.
Still it could be worse.

Congratulations, OnaBreak. A fantastic achievement. =D>
I know, it took me 9 years to finish a 4 year degree.

Whatever you do, I am sure you will be fine. You've got that piece of paper from University that can open doors for you now. 8)

How about the public service? Plenty of free time for golfing.

How about the public service? Plenty of free time for golfing.

You got that right. I became a public servant 6 weeks ago. I now have every weekend free (play every Saturday arve), and have a half RDO every second week to play in the Wednesdat arve comp. God Bless Public Service! I must say, after working some long hours in private enterprise, it's a welcome break... almost like a holiday. Some of the people there don't realise how good they've got it.

You could do a lot worse.

What are you complaining about jarro, you seem to squeeae in the games midweek when needed. At least you only have to get up at 4 or 5am to go to work, not freeze your butt of trying to get in 4 or 5 holes before work. :P :P :P

Congrats on completing your BCom! Do you have to wait long for your graduation ceremony? Make sure you go & bring plenty of $$$ for all the stuff that goes along with graduating.

Enjoy your travels around Oz - and definitely go for a public service job - I've never looked back - flexible working hours & 21% superannuation!

Ona

christ 21%, sounds goood. Public service eh.. i think theres some graduate spots at the NSW Treasury to start in 2005. would be good if I was up there already iwere I to make the interviews, otherwise pointless even applying.

seems i'd have to go it alone if i went on that holiday.. what do you guys think about travelling as one?

starting to warm a little to the idea of going into financial planning, might start keeping an eye out for some jobs.

as far as the porn industry goes
PROS - naked women and interesting story lines
CONS - naked men and those @!#@ story lines :x

I have a mate that will eventually go into financial planning.
He did Economics at Uni. Also did some extra study through the Securities Institute. Now works with a bank and "uses" them to do some extra courses on financial planning and other related things. At some stage, I'm sure he will leave them and go into financial planning.

I second AndyP's recommendation of doing a Grad Certificate or Diploma in either Applied Finance and Investment or Financial Planning.

They are the only really well recognise qualification and even to become a stockbroker or a member of one of the financial planning bodies, you need one of their courses.
