29 points (13/16) at Dunheved this morning.

Too many 1 pointers due to missing greens, not judging the speed of the greens all that well, and the general lack of being on course for a few weeks.

Good thing is that I'll be getting at least 4, maybe 5, rounds in before club champs kicks off on 11 October.

39 points.
12/13 FIR
1/18 GIR (and that was the first, which was 3 putted)
Bucketload of up-and-downs.

4th game in the last 6 that I've bettered handicap, and my GA has only dropped from 10.7 to 9.1.

I'm recommending Simon Magdulski for a knighthood.

I recorded an untidy 37 points at Ballina today. I can hardly wait to see the DSR to see if I broke or not.

I had the strangest day around and on the greens. I holed three putts over 15 feet, which I hardly ever do, but also had three 3putts, which I do quite a lot. I also holed a bunker shot FOR PAR, after chipping into said bunker.

I hardly hit an approach out of the middle of the club on the front, but when I started hitting some good ones, my putting let me down. That's golf, I suppose.

First game back at GCCC after a coupla months away - no comp golf in that period but played several resort courses. Played to my handicap today for nett 72 and third place in B Grade. Should have been a little better - took four shots to get out of the bunker on the par 3 12th but binned the putt for a 6.

Good news is that I lost a shot and am now off 13 off all tees - previously have hit 13 but only off the white tees. My goal for this year was to reach 13 from 18 so mission accomplished. Next stop 12.

Nice rounds gentlemen.

Dunteachin which were the other resort courses you played?

Played Sanctuary Cove, The Glades, Twin Waters, Noosa Springs, Peregian Springs, Palmer Coolum, Noosa Valley (not really a resort but the prettiest 9 holes I've ever played).

Personal favourite was The Glades but Noosa Springs close second. Coolum awesome but too hard for my game.

There was a strong breeze and quick greens at Ballina today, so I am quite happy with my 36 points. I hit a lot of good shots that didn't quite get rewarded and not many bad ones, but a couple of badly timed 3putts hurt my score a bit.

This was exactly the same off the stick score as on Wednesday, so I can claim the consistency award.

I played with a 15 year old hot shot who looked and swung like Rory McIlroy. But, at 15, he already has a bad back, and he chucked it in after 5 holes.

My Wednesday scorecard had a gross range of 1. Lowest score on a hole was par (10 times) and highest was bogey (8 times).

If only I had 9 of each, then I would challenge your claim.

I challenge your definition of consistency, even if you are claiming to have had nothing but 4's and 5's on your card. In fact, I'd say that score is inconsistent, if you bogeyed all the 3's, but parred all the fives.

I'd use two different categories of consistency. Firstly, there is what I did, which is the same score on consecutive occasions. Secondly, there would be the 18 bogeys, or 18 pars, or 18 two-pointer definition.

Do we need a separate thread for this?

74/64 in monthly medal. Pretty pleased with that overall, even though I bogeyed 3 of the last 4 holes.

36/38, 2 birdies, 6 bogeys, 10 pars.

33 points today. Not bad since I couldn't hit the side of a barn door - 2 fairways all day. One of them was the last hole and good enough to win B grade longest drive. Putted out of my bum with 25 putts (to be fair I had 2 wipes with no putts recorded) and only one 3 putt.

Binh will come in and complement me on my handbrake.

But it was a tad annoying. Managed to par 14 after my tee shot went through the fairway and into the lake, but put my tee shot on 15 through the green and my par putt lipped out.

Then had 205 into 16 but was just behind a tree on the left so had to punch out, 7 iron to 8 feet but birdie putt was never high enough.

Slight pushed 6 iron off 17th tee and tree trouble = couldn't get up and down.

But the 3 putt on 18 was the killer. I had about 30 feet...

On the upside, my ball striking was the best it's been in ages. Much better tempo and rhythm than Monday.

34pts today. 8pts on the first 9 (back 9) and 26 on the 2nd 9 (front 9).

I should've done a KJ handbrake on the last few holes to avoid losing any handicap, club champs in 2 weeks :)

FWIW I only dropped .3, replacing a played to 8 with a played to 5.3.

31 points (16/15) - putted abysmally throughout - even so, thought I was on track for okay score but imploded massively on last three holes - even threw my putter off the green in disgust on 17 - first time I've lost my temper that bad in many years - still, had a 3 in front of the score so it's not that bad

Had my second round of comp since hurting my back in August. Started of a bit shaky going bogey, double (wipe) but made a good up and down for a par on 3 to settle things down. Birdied 4 and then got it up and down on 5 for another par. So I've hit 1 of the first 5 greens and was 2 over, this would be the trend for the test of the day. Bogyed 3 out of 4 holes coming in, including having to get up and down for bogey on 8 and 9 and 16 points.
The back nine started a cracking drive and 9 iron to about 4 foot. I missed the putt :(. But I finished the round with a bonus 30+ footer for par. I only hit 2 gir on the back nine, but 3 of the holes where just on the fringed and I holed from off the free for a biride :). Finished 1 under the back nine with 21 points.

The rocketbladz seem to be doing the trick, but let's see how long they will last, but I very happy with them so far.
Stats
3 x birdies
1 x 0 putts
10 x 1 putts
24 putts total

I had 35 putts for 9 over, 11 less putts and i've had a fair round :)

Yesterday was my first round with my new irons (Ping G15's) and new putter (Odyssey Versa #7)

51 on the front nine
49 on the back nine

35 putts: 5 one-putts, 9 two-putts, 4 three-putts

At least I had a better long game than my last Sat game so am still very happy

27/09/14, Wolston Park GC, Stableford.

5/11 effective tee shots, 9/18 effective approaches, 3/7 up and down successes, 36 putts.
0 birdies, 10 pars, 6 bogeys, 2 others.
Scoring: PXPBBPPBB PPPPPPXBB
Score (http://www.ozgolf.net/andyp/Scorecard/rounds/20140927-p153.html): 41-36-77 (+10) stab 32pts (Par 35-32-67)

I'm a bit slow to post this one, but I should get back into the habit of doing so, now that I am playing a bit more comp golf. It was my worst round for a while, with some scrappy stuff from tee to green, and a few uncharacteristic three putts. That said, if this is my bad round, I won't complain too loudly.

I had a practice hit on Wednesday, and discovered that my grip had changed over time to being too strong. I have attempted to correct that now, but it is feeling a bit foreign, although I hit the ball straighter with the irons.

Next round: My first monthly medal in ages tomorrow.

I like wolston park.
It's not great, but I enjoy playing there. There are still spots where I have to think about the shot I want to play, instead of being in automatic pilot.
