I bought this putter last week. Does anyone know what the "03" stamped on the face might mean? Which Newport model is it?

Thanks,

Jack

It's the standard newport shape. Trying to figure out what year and line though....

The writing Scotty Cameron on the face has got me...

Looks like an older model as it doesn't have the series of coloured dots on the base, but I am no SC expert either.

No sightline. It appears to be stainless steel (although it has been polished, and I haven't had it long enough to see if it will rust). It is the Anser Scottsdale style, with the rounded edges.

Maybe its a Tour version?

There are a lot of Scotty experts on golfwrx that should be able to help you.

Maybe a '96 '97 Classic Series Newport that has lost it's original coating

It's definitely tour mate.

It was made for Owen Orville-Olsen, or 03, as he was known to his mates. He played only one professional tournament before being tragically struck down with koprophobia and walking off the course never to be seen again.

I'd get rid of it mate. That thing is cursed.

How about it's 3 of 'x'?

The lower number that 'x' equals makes your putter worth more/less.

or..

Tiger Woods won his third masters using that putter... and it's worth a fricking mint!

It was formerly owned by Perci, and was his 3rd putter for that week ????

thats an old newport that has had the finish removed somehow.

I have one at home that was the gunmetal/rusty finish and I cleaned it wth steel wool and thats how it came up.

well...it's defn a recent putter coz it's got Titleist stamped on it...
I'm thinking around the same time as the pro platinum series...

before Scotty joined Titleist, weren't all his putters just stamped Scotty Cameron???
