Hi All, does anyone have any feedback regarding Garage Golf Simulators?

e.g. Optishot or P3 etc

I am toying with the idea of converting one end of my shed into a golf simulator with Projector, netting and a PC to drive the simulator.

I have seen a few videos and would like some feedback on what you have seen or use at home. I dont want to spend HUGE amounts of money and would like to do it myself. I am an IT consultant and pretty handy with tools etc so wiring it up and building it wont be an issue.

Any feedback/advice would be great

I have optishot, very good you can use it as a practice tool or set it up with a projector to play golf courses. It will register. If you are using real or soft ball or no ball.

Can be connected to lap top, TV or projector. Think it was ten courses loaded but you pay for the download of the big nome courses.

I've got a p3pro that I used to use a lot. Was heaps of fun with some beers on rainy days etc
Only stopped using it a year or so ago when my young bloke wanted to keep using it and wouldn't give me a go (plus he kept using real golf balls on it which isn't a good idea inside a house), so I packed it up in the garage and there it still sits.

I should get it out to see if it still works, but not enough room in the new house unfortunately........

Out of interest (as I'd have nowhere to put it) what would something like this cost?

To be honest mate, I honestly can't remember what I payed for it. I've had it for around 7 or 8 years and the memory kinda struggles to go back that far some times. ;)

But no doubt they're a hell of a lot cheaper these days!!

But I did have it set up with a screen, and a projector so it was pretty cool........

I got optishot is decent. Wont work in sunlight however. Think I got it 350 from ebay posted. Also take note where u swing is a couple of inches above the ground so u need to stand on something or choke down

When you say "new" optishot are you implying that it has changed recently? I've always heard that optishot was more of a game than a simulator due to how inaccurate it is.

It is now version +3, it is still only for indoor or you could get away with a shaded carport. I find my one to be accurate but it is not a $15k tracman system.can find good priced second hand one around. There is more info on the tank site than the OZ one.

Take a loan and get a trackman simulator 😏

If you are going to blow some cash, isn't the Foresight a better option for net hitting? My understanding that the camera based system reads actual spin on the ball, where Trackman and flightscope guesstimate it (though I could be wrong). If you were hitting outdoors, you go the radar systems all day.

What would Foresight ( CG2 i guess) likely cost? Can't seem to find a costing on the web - ooops here it is:

The best golf simulator I ever saw involved adlo belting golf balls into his fridge. Awesome stuff.

Them were the days.
