Anyone else coming? DaveS said he was a maybe? Need to be careful with traffic thanks to the Indy? Where is this course anyway? Near Robina?

It is off Robina Parkway (Paradise Springs Ave, on LHS coming from M1). You wont have any traffic issues due to Indy, that only affects Surfers crappydise.

Oh well, at least two of us will be acclimatised to some breeze and possible heat, and our games will be honed to tip top condition for the big weekend event.

Or, we'll be burnt out well before the final straight.

Is the booking under Ozgolf, or somebody's name?

Petey, I'll send you a PM with my arrival details and the like.

No player has won the Friday event, then backed up with a Championship win. Will there be tanking?

Looking forward to the results, and hopefully some pics to make me jealous.

The Wife leaves for the Sunny Coast and her friends hens weekend, leaving me at home with the young fella who is well and truely into his terrible two's :). He is going through the biting phase, and can open the baby gates better then most adults...

Great conditions. Mediocre golf. The course is a bit meh, some nice holes but nothing really extraordinary. Jim had 35 pts and I had 28.

Looking forward to tomorrow now!

Jim has peaked. PeteyD is primed.

I've been unable to get the site to load all evening until now, but my report isn't really worth waiting for anyway.

Booking was for 11.00, not 11.15, so that confused us. It also meant that Petey didn't have time to tell me to pay an extra $10 to go in the comp. So I didn't.

I was wishing I had been in the comp early, as I started very well. 1 over after 7 and hitting the ball well. But that was the peak.

I struggled a bit from that point on, both the tee and around the greens. If you are only as good as your last hole, then I'm stuffed. Drove into the water off the tee, then shanked a chip.

Petey hit some good shots, but there were also a few frustrated cries, usually when the ball went way left. He managed to find his way right behind two date palms that the designer almost certainly planted for decoration, not to block a players next shot.

The course is generic resort style. It was hard to recall individual holes. You remembered whether the water was down the right on down the left (mostly down the right, bad for slicers), but not much else. The greens were pretty ordinary. Patchy and slow.

I'm hoping I haven't peaked, but I might have done.

All in all though, a very pleasant day on a golf course. I'm glad I made the effort to play.

That Date Palm had my name all over it.

They were almost as wide as his butt.
