Well ladies and gents, I had my first round in at least 12 months this morning. The lay off was largely enforced by injury. Have spent a lot of time in the gym the past 6-9 months and on the range in the past 6 weeks, finally put things to the test with a sneaky 18 at Victoria Park.

As you'd expect things were a bit inconsistent, but I got away a couple of good drives, some nice recoveries and some decent putts on somewhat tricky greens.

The weather was cracking, good to be back.

I have a large tear in the labrum of my left shoulder. This also manifests as weakness/instability/pain in thethoracic spine region.
Seeing the specialist again in a couple of weeks, see if i can get away withno surgery. I dare say he willwant to reconstruct the shoulder to be honest.

I had a fractured scapula on right shoulder, was told it would be keyhole but came out looking like id been to war.Had almost a full reco once under the knife, damage everywhere.Had to have bicep tendon cut and reattached, scapula repaired, and it was the most painful thing I've ever recovered from.My Labrum had a tear,it's not fun,and getting back to golf was very slow,I guess 6-8 months out I had, then just started very short chips, basically I went up a club a week so to speak, and longer clubs maybe 2 weeks.

Lots of physio, painkillers and no sleep after surgery.Ive ruptured my achillies, broken arms, and nothing compares to the pain I had of shoulder surgery.

Make sure if you do have surgery, you do all of the physio, and never give up.It gets better, but you must keep up the band work or your shoulder is never the same.

My recovery movement wise is fantastic,my golf is fine, but I would never have it done again,I'd give up golf before shoulder op!

Good luck with it all if you have to have it done.Keep your chin up!

So you had an up and down round?

Does it affect your swimming?
