View Full Version : LIST: Driver shaft profiles

Folks,

Don't know if there's a thread on OG on this already (couldn't find one myself), but don't suppose any/many of you blokes want to contribute to compiling here a basic-ish list of bend profiles for driver shafts (the more common shafts, at least), for people like myself who don't even come close to knowing it all - or purport to knowing it all - to use as a reference? I guess just low/mid/high bend profile/kick point info would do the trick. I've been using a Diamana D+ 72 Stiff in my 913D2 for a good while, but have just picked up a Diamana S+ 62 Stiff to replace it as I've tried it at the range and it just feels more suited to me...like I don't have to force it so much to get decent results. And I've just picked up a 7M3 Black Tie for cheap to try in my JetSpeed, but I'm thinking I'll probably be better off with a Red Tie. So, for me, at least, a list such as this one would help me get across the various mid kick point shaft options that are out there, as that seems to work for me.
Anyway, sharing's caring, so feel free to start up/add to/grow this list if you've got legit info to share. Any willy innuendos and your name will be passed on to the queer community:). Cheers, FJ.

I am sure JADHO's chart is more accurate than this one from Titleist. (the company not the ozgolfer) :P

If he's hit a Titleist Bassara W-Series 50, I will eat my hat...

It should read more like if he hasn't hit more than half of the shafts listed in that chart, I will eat my hat...

Anyway, I wasn't raising issues with either relevance or accuracy of the chart itself if you couldn't understand my kind of humour.

This is an interesting read on driver shaft bend profiles, if you haven't seen it, including a comparison of x flex shafts.

I've seen his plethora of shafts in person... (n/h)

I did get your humour. Mods aren't always stony faced killjoys. ;)

i take it the x-stiff and stiff shafts are all low spin and r flex are high/high. i was told i should try a low spin shaft as it might help my driver :?

Not entirely true shorty. You can get low spin shafts in reg, the range is smaller and can be very hard to find second hand.
If you go Stiffy or Xtra Stiffy and your miss is already a slice you will cut it off the planet with a stiffer shaft more often.
