Hi Mods, as it say's on the tin,

No nudity or porn, or hardcore fowl language,

Just a thread where we don't have to worry about infractions cause of nsfw, the title can be have a warning NSFW so that people don't open it at work, or with a toddler on the lap

Or it can be a hidden forum, where you ask to join.

Why change a winning formula?

It sounds like what TGF tried to do (when ISG went off the rails) a decade ago, but it soon evolved back to bannings and deleted threads.

While I think that some of the rules here are too harsh and applied inconsistently, there's no need for a NSFW section. There are plenty of other places you can find that stuff.

Dotty, TGF hasn't had The Pub for years now. And nobody ever got banned for posting in there.

Why'd they get rid of it? Didn't know it was gone.

Exactly, the Top 10 threads were stopped rather quickly and eventually The Pub.

My banning remark was more concerned with the evolution of an unrestricted and 'self-policing' community to rules and restraint (for the good of the community).

Shanksarefunny was a forum that was 100% nsfw

That went well

Thats pretty much on the money Dotty.

TGF started out with no rules at all, and was initially invite only, then evolved into a full open forum just like this one (albeit quite different in terms of posters, content, moderation etc). The PUB served its purpose initially, and then fell into decline once new members joined and the content shifted to more golf focussed topics. Then we made a decision to just hide it permanently and no-one seemed to miss it or complain (as a mod there I can still see the Pub which is quite amusing sometimes). TGF is essentially a PG rated site too and (almost) everyone understands that and plays by the rules.

Anyhow, Ozgolf doesn't need a sealed section in my opinion. If I want to alert a fellow Ozgolfer to some humorous filth, I just send him a text message or use the PM's here and elseswhere.

Benno, SAF was pretty funny though whilst it lasted!

Why'd it get shut down ? Some blokes surprisingly don't appreciate animated gifs.

Very true. Where else would you see quality threads such as Gap Shot Monday, Boobie GIF Friday, Saturday/Sunday Selfies etc all in the one place?

RIP SAF...

I come to Ozgolf to troll others and maybe talk golf.

I can look at those things at other sites.

If you are desperate, I know some crackers, so pm me.

I thought it was that but, then I guessed golf isn't work, well not for me thanks god, or I would be homeless.

We're allowed social conversations at my work.

On principle, I choose to not talk socially to people in the office.
