Your trying to sell a club at a retail price to a bunch of club ho's who never pay retail prices. :?
I've had 2 TP's and bought both from the USA,one was new and the other was almost new and I got both for under $600 Oz each. There are other guys on this forum that have paid even less.
It's not that we are tightarses (well some of us are  ) but when you browse as many US forums as we do you realise that its silly to buy golf equipment in Australia.
Anyway Davemason thats my take on why your club has'nt sold.

Sorry mate, the problem is most of the people here are expert eBayers who will only pay what they can get it in eBay for.....they can get it cheaper than $700 ;)

Golfworks at Woolongabba advertised an R7 for $699 on the weekend!!!

Then there are those of us, that aren't ho's, never update our clubs, and would never pay over $150 for one club.

Potentially could buy one in 3 days, including shipping for $600 brand new, and this is a guy who sends "gifts" as well.

I was in the golf works store on Sunday looking at the r7 drivers (looking to buy) but they didn't say any thing about a sale on r7 and they know me as I've got stuff from them before.

BTW with buying golf gear from the US and to buy anything over $400 AUD there is duty and gst tacked on to the price ( 5% duty on the value in AUD add on the shipping in AUD then add on GST ), how do you guy get around this or you can't as I've looked at stuff and it cheaper but once you add on shipping costs ,duty, gst it is cheaper to buy from OZ .

There should still be some threads about getting stuff shipped from the us, and how to miss customs etc etc, what are the best ways to ship etc etc. Do a search on shipping or customs. They should pop up.

One of these days we're gonna do a sticky on the subject so it'll stay around as a sort of guide. The ways don't always work perfectly, but they're pretty good. You'd be surprised how cheap you can pick up stuff from the states, even when shipping is factored into the equation.

This seller is very good, with $35 US for shipping it should cost you around $600 Oz.
If shipped via USPS which is what he is offering you should avoid customs duties, gst etc.
I've bought heaps of stuff from the US and provided it's shipped USPS I've avoided fees 99% of the time.

How can they send it by USPS when another seller says they wont ship anything to AU thats over 42" due to USPS limitations?

MTB,

I think it is the same as going to the Post Office here, it's just a matter of getting the right post office. In the last few days I've had people offering me postage of $60us, $85us and $100us. Just a matter of finding the right people, then don't be afraid to ask if they will send as a gift. As long as you are nice about it, they seem to always respond honestly.

I think that if sending it as a gift it will still attract duty, it goes on the value of the goods being sent as you are bring something in to the country that you haven't owned for I think for 12Mths ( could be wrong about the time ) , this is what I've hear and it came from a duties officer.

The labelling as a gift can still attract duty but what it does is get you a $200 exemption, ie if the value is $500AUD they then calculate duty on $300AUD. That can make all the difference as to wether or not the duty is passed onto you.

ok ,but dosen't duty start at $400.00 and above

BTW the driver is gone I basicly traded it in for an r7TP, the deal was the pro at one of our local pro shop gave me what it would cost him to buy one from TM $650 and a change over of $350 for a r7 TP so I think I got a good deal as they retail for $1200 AUD . I was going to buy one from the US but this was to good to pass up.

Duty starts at $1....it only gets passed onto you when the calculated amount is >$50 :x . So if the value of your imported goods is $400AUD, they calculate 5% duty and 10% GST = ~$60AUD. As the calulated amount is over $50AUD you could expect to receive a note from customs telling you to pay the $60 before they will release the package to you...or call them and hope you can sweet talk them with a story how it is a gift from your grandma who forgot to label it correctly
